Lynesse had reached the back wall of the stable and pressed herself against it, her arms over her head as she tried to appear harmless and submissive.
“I didn’t know it would be this easy,” the assassin said. “I thought I’d get to play with you at least a little.”
“Please,” Lynesse whispered. “I don’t want to die.”
“Yes, you do,” the Faceless Woman said. “It would be rude to refuse a gift from the Empress.”
“Not today, bitch,” Doreah screamed as she flung herself on the assassin, driving the other woman to the ground. The killer flipped around with amazing speed, slashing Doreah across the arm and upper chest, but my friend blocked her attempt to stab her in the heart and drove her own stiletto into the woman’s side. The wound should have been crippling if not fatal, but she pushed Doreah off her and stabbed her in turn in the lower abdomen before springing to her feet.
John Carter and Dejah Thoris of the Burroughs novels are mis-directed to the world of Game of Thrones, fulfilling two separate prophecies. Carter is a Confederate officer; his ideas might be considered unenlightened. Dejah is very good at killing people, but she feels bad about it.
Updates every other Saturday.

"I believe that this was written by you," my sister of the heart said. "There are too many indicators of your authorship."
"How can you say that?" I countered. "It is wretched prose, filled with references to inter-species sex and to extreme violence. It is a tale told by an idiot."
"You have attempted to disguise your authorship by purposefully employing weak sentence structures, unbelievable dialog and overuse of tired tropes."
"I am a princess, and a scientist. I would not waste my valuable time or my talents on this so-called 'fan fiction'."
"There are 731 references to breasts, and 112 references to receiving orgasm," Thuvia pursued her point. "Your obsessions with these topics are well known."
In which Thuvia of Ptarth discovers an embarrassing secret.
Submitted in response to the prompt: "characters discovering fanworks about themselves."
