There’s something warm on his cheeks. The touch is gentle, at odds with the roughness of the hands. Eddie blinks his eyes open.
And he sees blue.
Wide eyes, striking and grounding all at once. The man is nodding at Eddie and his words are all that makes sense.
“You just gotta hold on for me, man,” he says, his touch unwavering.
Jules sighs, as if Eddie has just told him he’s never tried a Jibarito (which he hasn’t, and Jules was greatly put out by that revelation). “There’s this firefighter back in LA who keeps popping up in the news. Usually for doing reckless shit,” which is saying something, coming from anyone in this tent since pretty much anyone out here is known for being reckless. “He’s crazy.”
“Oh yeah, that’s my husband.”
or, even in the middle of the afghanistan desert, buck is famous for being a reckless hero.
Day 6: “I chose this family for a reason” + domestic
In which Buck throws Eddie a birthday party, and his found family rallies around him.
