    Summary

The memory of this particular town is one of the softer ones, bright and full of color, the air filled with music and song and the heady aromas of spices and savory meats, of tangy fruits and desserts almost too saccharine. Blood, too, from the head of the bruxa he'd killed, but covered by the overwhelming scent of relief that started permeating the town when word spread that the creature was dead.

He remembers warm sunlight and a gentle summer breeze. He remembers blue, bright and clear: blue eyes beneath a blue sky, shining with mirth, and pink lips that tasted like sweet honey, soft against his own.

When Geralt returns to the town where he met a blue-eyed bard that stole his heart, he finds it much less lively than it had been a decade before, despite it being nearly Midsummer. Something haunts the fields, sucking the light and life from the land, and the people are desperate for their peace and traditions back.

The distinct lack of that blue-eyed bard with a soul as warm as sunlight feels like a terrible, cruel omen.

    Summary

‘People don’t want to take witchers as lovers,’ Geralt says. ‘And I don’t want them to … treat me as something I’m not. So it’s easier not to.’

‘Well, if you mean that you’re frustrated that they treat you as though you were human,’ Jaskier says, folding his arms, ‘perhaps you simply need to remember that you’re—’

‘I don’t want them to treat me as though I were a woman,’ Geralt snaps.

‘Oh,’ Jaskier says. ‘I could help if you like. I’m not going to pretend you’re a woman. And we’re friends, aren’t we?’

In which Jaskier and Geralt make a convenient arrangement to make the Path more pleasant, where absolutely no feelings are involved.

    Summary

Geralt wakes up and immediately misses the bliss of being passed out. From blood loss, probably. He doesn't really remember, but his sword arm is completely numb and he has a headache that must have been caused by an angry god. Opening his eyes is not a priority.

Yes, but waking up means you are alive which is the preferred state for a Witcher to be, Geralt.

    Or:
Geralt loses his memory and needs to figure out how he acquired a bard of all things. Most importantly, he must figure out how to keep him.

Several decades worth of Geralt and Jaskier traveling, fighting monsters, and generally being too stupid to admit anything to one another. Yennefer keeps it interesting for them.

Or, when you give a bard a knife...

“This is a new horse,” Jaskier says uncertainly.

“Hm,” Geralt grunts, which Jaskier probably should have expected.
