    Summary

There is a tap on the table top and a quiet, “Scusatemi, signorina,” and she looks up. There is a boy there, no more than twenty, and he is undoubtedly American, though his Italian is so polished that even she would be unsure if not for his hesitant slouch— discomfort, it says I am out of place. His gaze is not demanding. It is not cold, either— but intelligent, distant. Not assessing, but calculating. As if she is made of code, and he is reading her.

“I speak English,” she tells him, “better than Italian.”

He slumps with something akin to relief. “Oh- that’s. That’s cool. I’m really sorry to ask-“ and he looks it, wincing and pulling his own fingers, “-but would it be okay if I sit with you? My mamma is in a formaggeria across the piazza and I desperately don’t want to stand in there and smell cheese for an hour so I was gonna grab an espresso but every other table is filled and I don’t want to impose but—?” He looks at her. He is sharp, ardent with a wisdom that puts her teeth on edge. No young man should look like that: as if he has stared straight into the barrel of a gun and laughed at the bullet, swallowed it whole.

He looks old for his age. He just. He looks.

Friendship is the most beautiful relationship because it is something we choose to bring into our lives. It is a love that sustains us, and brings us closer to other human beings who are just as hungry for companionship. It is shared jokes and history, and the willingness to reach out every time we need another. This isn't just friendship, this is EPIC friendship and god, GOD, these two people especially deserve that kind of neverending support and love.

    Summary

    “You brought a book?”

    “Like you didn’t.”

She concedes the point and digs a paperback out of her clutch—Austen’s Persuasion, a good choice. Jess displays his own masticated copy of Tobias Wolff’s Old School, which feels like a consistently fitting read when encased within the two-hundred year old hallowed halls of Chilton Preparatory. The book’s cover is hanging on by Scotch tape and a prayer, and half the pages are creased with undone dog ears.

“Man, we’re a couple of anti-social freaks,” Rory declares.

Jess grins. “Just call me Thomas Pynchon.”

    Summary

The last thing Peter sees is Tony's horrified, heartbroken expression leaning over him. The guilt in his eyes is almost worse than the burning pain that's taking Peter apart piece by piece. The world starts to go dark.

There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.

“Easy,” a woman says. Her words are gentle, and carry a slight accent that he can’t place. "I'm called Wonder Woman. What's your name?"

It's been such a long time since I've been so deeply invested in a story and I'm LIVING FOR IT. This fic surprisingly gave me such Spiderman feels, the genuine love for Peter Parker AND Spiderman in this fic makes me want to go FERAL. And the Batfamily! Is an absolute riot and I love the relationships that form between the batfamily and Peter, it's fantastic! And the plot! Wow, the plot. There's so much great worldbuilding and it makes you deeply curious to know what happens next and this will all unfold. I binged this fic in 2 days and there's no going back. So freaking good!! I am SO happy I found this! XD

Incredibly haunting and I swear, I reread this again and again for the creepy and horrifying atmosphere it's able to create. The dread is palpable and Jim Kirk is a Survivor and I love how the author portrays that here. AND CORALINE! WORLDBUILDING! MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM!! In both terror and absolute delight. Seriously, this is one fic I am on the edge of my seat waiting to update. Wish I found this when it was Halloween, it would've fit the vibe SO MUCH.
