At the sound of Lieutenant Uhura’s voice, Commander Spock awakes from his reverie. "I'm receiving a distress signal from the planet Di'jOn - on the border of Federation space, Captain." The Lieutenant flicks a number of switches in haste before continuing. "The signal is unknown, I don't recognise the frequencies." Spock's attention moves from Nyota to the console before him when she says, "They appear to speak English, Captain."

Summary
Threepio stood up and walked away from the chessboard. The droid heaved a metallic sigh. There were so many memories here of his friends, his true friends, Master Luke, Princess Leia, Captain Solo, and… Chewbacca… The droid turned his thoughts towards Chewbacca, who at the moment was sitting in the cockpit, at a loss, the poor Wookie was grieving his friends. The droid could say the same for himself, yet he couldn't find it in himself to comfort his friend as every time the droid talked about it, it led to an emotional malfunction. Speaking of emotional malfunctions, Threepio felt empty, upset, lost. He remembered feeling like this after his activation under General Bail Organa about fifty years ago, and he never knew why until the defeat of the Empire nearly thirty years ago.

And it seemed that Shouto was ready to give.

Summary
Threepio has been around forever, everyone knows that. Compared to the other droids around the base he is practically an antique, but when he begins saying the names of people he can't remember knowing, and seeing visions of places he knows he's never been too, he begins to question just how long forever really is. Fortunately he has a certain blue astromech around to give him some answers.
(Or a- what if Threepio got his memories back post revenge of the sith and then he and Artoo bonded over it-sorta thing.)
