  1. Summary

Humor and Drama and Adventure, oh my! Stories, drabbles, and long winding narratives from all across the realms of fandom.

Various ideas, scenes, conversations, and character studies. The title comes from that book most US elementary school students have to read: From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. You know, the one where they live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art for about a week?

All stories are unrelated unless stated otherwise.

    Summary

Sebastian has two exes: Abigail, because he isn’t interested in women, and Sam, because he isn’t interested in men either. That doesn't stop them from dragging Sebastian into an adventure of domesticity.

Or: Nobody else moves into the farmhouse and overthrows JojaMart, so the band has to do it themselves.

    These dorks:

Abigail hugs her mother. “I’m glad you changed your mind about Sam. I love you.”

Caroline hugs back. “Be good to yourself and to each other, and don’t have any threesomes with Sebastian.”

“Mom!” screeches Abigail. “First, that’s not your business; and second, Sam and I will have as many threesomes we want, whether that number is zero or a thousand!” (Sam’s entire family goes red inside the house.)

Caroline giggles. “I’m just messing with you, dear. I love you too.” Abigail giggles too, but underneath the good humour, she thinks she sees a hint of wistfulness in her mother’s face.

Sam and Abigail’s families leave, and not half an hour later, Sebastian shows up with a sleeping bag and a six-pack of beer.

and then a few chapters later:

“Wow, hey,” says Sebastian, sleep-rough. Abigail and Sam jump apart, and Sebastian laughs. He looks down, and plucks the waistband of their shared pair of controversial purple underwear, currently being worn by Sam. “Nice underwear. I got you more for your birthday.”

“Sebs!” says Abigail. “Holy shit, I forgot you were there and I’m sorry and... wow, you look insanely hot right now.” Her voice trails off as she takes Sebstian in, laying in their bed with his hair fanned out over the pillow like a fairytale maiden.

Sebastian’s clearly too sleepy to be self-conscious, because he curls his lips into a lazy smile, half-lidded eyes crinkling. “Yeah?”

AND ALSO apparently the fic with this author note:

A/N: When I move an NPC into the farmhouse, I use their former bedroom as keg storage. I think this unintended marriage perk makes Leah the most eligible bachelorette and Harvey the most eligible bachelor, but Sam is a pretty close contender with how fucking big his bedroom is.

    Summary

“One to ten?” Booker would ask, grinning, and Yusuf would put on a mock-serious face and reply, “Four-point-three; only slightly better than getting kicked by a horse,” or, waking up after a round of gunshots to the chest, “Like a six.” As a diagnostic tool, it fell apart in the face of the sheer amount of options for the worst pain he’d ever felt, but that was the fun part.

“You two are so morbid,” Andy would say, rolling her eyes at them, but sometimes Yusuf would look up from a stab wound, shake the blood off his hand, and say “Yesterday was worse,” and he could tell she was trying not to laugh.

His right knee gives out halfway into the kitchen. Nicky’s beside him immediately, hand on his elbow, clearly evaluating the situation in a split second and making the call that down is easier than up at the moment. He lowers them to the floor, and Yusuf exhales hard.

“I walk the way a ship sinks,” he quotes, and Nicky nods, short and firm.

“I gladly embrace my fate as a mermaid.”

It’s so ridiculous, and he’s so serious about it, that all the maudlin seeps out of Yusuf and into the tile. “What did we say about extending metaphors, my heart?”

The corner of Nicky’s mouth lifts. “I’d say it qualifies as a dire circumstance.”

“I have loved you for centuries,” Joe says, quietly, “and I will continue to love you for centuries. I cannot imagine a life without you nor do I want to. Every time I wake up besides you, I still cannot believe my luck.”

Nicky’s heart pounds in his chest. “You say this like I do not feel my mouth becoming dry in your presence, like my heart does not beat out of my chest every time you smile at me. I only know what love is because of you. My life is incomplete without you.”

The kiss is short but all-consuming, drowning the both of them in nothing but love, warm and pure.

    Summary

“Nicolo,” Joe breathed, pushing himself up in order to be beside Nicky, to be with him as he healed.

“Joe!” Nicky’s response was pained, but it was not said in relief or need, it was cried out in warning.

Before Joe could act in response to the warning a heavy boot connected with Joe’s face that sent him back to the ground.

A story of Nicky and Joe told through the five senses.

    Bookmarker's Notes

“You taste like death,” Nicky sounded so sad, and Joe had a moment to register the sight of his blood staining Nicky’s lips.

“That’s funny, because you taste like life, Nicolo,” Joe countered, because he hated Nicky sounding sad, and Nicky pushed his lips back to Joe’s once more.

That was how Andy and Nile found them several minutes later, sitting tangled together in their destroyed safe house, covered in blood, surrounded by dead men.

“I leave you unattended for half an hour,” Andy said, her tone light but her eyes hard and calculating as she surveyed the scene before her.
