“Did you really spend a half an hour looking for me just to replace a spilled beer?” Waverly quirked her eyebrow as she gazed inquisitively at the tall redhead.
“Big City Music Fest, let’s give it up one more time for Widow Wives!” Both women looked towards the announcer on stage. After another short round of praise, the announcer spoke again. “Now, welcome to the stage, Big City’s own, Nicole Haught!”
A decent swell of applause surrounded them as Nicole turned back towards Waverly, her tongue popping out to wet her lips. “Well I kind of have a habit for chasing gorgeous girls.” She winked subtly before hitching her thumb towards the stage. “But I guess I had another reason to be here. Sometimes life is serendipitous like that.”
A musically influenced story with a smidgen of lust, a dash of angst, a pinch of smut, a smattering of love and a fairly decent playlist.

Summary
Nicole Haught, a Senior High school redhead, finds out that her cancer came back. Sooner or later, death will finally take her. That is why she is standing on the edge of the bridge in the middle of the night, leaning over the railings and taunting death. She does not intend to jump and kill herself.
Waverly Earp, a Junior head cheerleader, thinks otherwise as she sees Nicole. She believes Nicole is suicidal and needs help. But Nicole does not believe Waverly can really save her.
The more people Nicole lets in her life, the harder it is for her to let go.

Alex eyed the brick detailing and columns around the front entrance as they made their way up the stairs.
Preserving the detailing would be vital. The door itself looked solid wood, some damage in one corner, but preservable. The glass, however, fogged, cracked, wire reinforced, that was going to have to go.
A shadow shifted behind the glass.
Alex squinted. She reached towards the handle, only to jerk her hand back as the door opened from the inside.
