This series holds my Thank-You Fics, so called because they have been written as thank-you gifts to people who have donated to my mother's cancer fund, which is helping to pay for my mother's chemotherapy treatments and eventual surgeries.

  2. Summary

“Bucky,” a voice says, and the asset’s spine prickles all the way up like there are needles in it, small and strange and blossoming out sharp.

“You know me,” he says mechanically.

“‘Course I know you,” the voice answers warily.

    ---

"Bucky?" a voice says, soft and tentative and a little wavery, and when he turns around, he gapes in awe and not a little fear.

"S-Stevie?" he manages, and it's Steve, of course it's Steve, that's Steve's voice and Steve's eyes and Steve's big beak and Steve's stupid ears but... but... whose square jaw is that, and where did those shoulders come from, and how did he get so tall?

"Bucky, how - how did you - ?"

He shakes his head, still staring in shock. "Pal, I think I'm the one that oughta be askin' you that!"

  5. Summary

It is impossible to live without the sun, and it is impossible to live without your beloved. ~ Russian proverb

She is thirteen when she meets her soul mate. He is ageless, a brainwashed assassin cryogenically preserved over time.
This is the story of what happens next.

    Summary

It takes a moment for Steve to add up the features on the man in front of him: those blue-grey eyes, a cleft chin, high cheekbones. Sure, he's older, dirtier, taller, but there's only one person Steve knew who looked like that. "Bucky?" he asks. "Bucky Barnes?" It's been so long since he's said that name out loud.

"Yeah, I..." Bucky pauses. "Oh fuck," he says. "I missed my stop."

Steve smiles. “Wanna get a burger?” he asks, noting the happy coincidence that Bucky Barnes, of all the people in New York, fell asleep in the same subway car that Steve would walk into, and missed his stop.

“Sure,” Bucky says with a shrug. “I could eat.”

    Summary

So long ago the details were lost to time, people began creating guardians of the dead. They were made from dogs, dogs who were buried in graveyards before anyone was laid to rest, their spirits arising as black dogs, bound protectors of the human dead.

Steve had always wondered what would happen after he died. He hadn't expected the answer to be 'wake up in the cemetery he'd been buried in', but here he was, some kind of ghost, and he could see the trees through his hands. It wasn't so bad, and he wasn't alone—a sleek black dog, golden eyes glowing bright, was happily waiting to greet him.

Decades later, on what was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful, definitely-not-life-changing walk through the woods, Bucky stumbled across an abandoned cemetery and into the impossible.

(It's a ghost story and a love story and a story about dogs.)

    Summary

“Okay,” Barnes said, hiding behind an overturned breakfast bar with a rifle half full of what Tony Stark called ‘rubber bullets, but like, for elephants.’ “So you’re mad.”

Sam almost risked exposing his head just to give that the look it deserved, but he decided that if Barnes didn’t know already what a dumbass fuckup he was, Sam wasn’t going to be able to shut his trap with anything less than high dose tranquilizers.

Across a bigger open floor plan than they had previously enjoyed at the tower, Steve Rogers lowered his gargantuan green head and roared.

    Summary

Steve shook his head in disbelief. “So just because I knocked your coat on the floor and handed it back to you, now we both have to be legally married to a stranger forever?”

“Well,” Bucky said, eyeing the ring box on the coffee table, “we don’t have to be strangers.”

    Bucky's a selkie. Steve's a clumsy human. They're married now. Oops.
