    Summary

Nonstop civilian protest duty for over a month, the senate's latest hobby seems to be getting abducted for kicks, and now he had to deal with a camdroid shaped pain-in-the-ass following his every move. The powers that be seemed to think that putting him and the rest of the Guard in some holo was the best way to work up some civilian sympathy. Well, at least there was no way his day could get any worse...

He was a Mandalorian. If the helmet didn’t make that obvious, the Iron Heart on his chest plate sealed the deal for her. She didn’t have to ask if he was injured. It was impossible to miss the piece of metal shrapnel embedded in the side of his thigh. That, along with the standard sounds of someone in a lot of pain, was proof enough.

    “Six nexu, Alor? Really?”
    “There wasn’t time, Wren.”
“Of course,” Tristan mock-agreed, dabbing the wound. “The one time I ditch my jetpack, my Alor flies straight into a nexu den unattended.”
Alor shrugged, wincing. “Where’s the cauterizer?”
“The— you use a cauterizer?” Tristan stared. “How are you even still alive? No, you’re not getting a cauterizer. I’m not getting disemboweled by the medic. Manda…” Alor sighed.
“You know you’re making it worse, right? When you do crazy mandokar stuff like that. Six nexu. Krayt dragons. Mudhorns. Dark troopers.”
“Giant ice spiders,” supplied Alor unhelpfully.
Tristan stared, then narrowed his eyes in a glare. “Yeah, giant ice spiders. If you still had a shred of hope to not be Mand’alor, you’re doing a pretty bad job of proving you’re unfit. This os’ik is the stuff of legends, a mythic Lone Warrior on quests. Might I remind you, this trip was supposed to be down time.”
“Yeah,” Alor sounded tired now. “Maybe when I’m dead.”

In which side quest magnet Din Djarin finds some maybe-Mandos, adopts children, tells a bedtime story and becomes a legend.

Tony lost more things to the ice and cold of siberia.

That bunker has forged him, once again, in ice and then in fire.

Returning to live, fundamentally changed, he hopes the family he cobbles together will hold this time. Broken people with sharp edges can come together to make something shine.

Even if.. Or as he knows, when they come back.

    Saturday Updates!

(I suck at this summary business!)
Also, damn the word count adds up fast, heh, this will probably be very long because I write to much!

    Bookmarker's Notes

Hauntingly similar to my own experience with a TBI in Barnes’s POV.
