“Evan, I swear to god if you bought a Hildy or something expensive—"
“I had a dollar limit! One that you approved!”
“Dios, Buck that was a joke! I never considered you’d spend $500—you know what, this is on me. I should have known better considering you have absolutely no impulse control.” Eddie turned his attention back to the road, waving one hand dismissively at his passenger.
“I have excellent impulse control,” Buck scoffed, ignoring Eddies noise of protest.
Buck in fact did not have good impulse control, and Eddie could fire off a dozen reasons at a moments notice, starting with the painted rock collection he bought of Instagram last week because Chris had said they looked ‘kinda cool I guess’ in passing.
Or: Buck has poor impulse control, there's kissing, and Chris being an absolute angel of a child. And a generous amount of baseball sprinkled in there.

Eddie is in hospital recovering from the shooting. Of course Buck’s going to visit him, unfortunately when you’re hooked up to machines that monitor your heartbeat people are going to notice things…
and it they notice isn’t it their duty to do something about it?
A story were Buck is Buck and Eddie is Eddie and the nursing team working with Eddie go above and beyond.
“Still here Buck?” He managed a whisper. His nurse passed him some water. He sipped it slowly.
“Where else am I going to be” was the response he got, the tone soft and affectionate.
Lydia couldn’t help notice how they continued to gaze at each other with matching soft smiles while she checked various monitors including the one attached to monitor Eddie’s pulse.
The little humph she made when she took a closer look at the machine caught the younger man’s attention. “Is something wrong with Eddie?” he asked quickly sounding concerned.
“No” she reassured him, “Not at all, his heart rate’s just a bit faster than it has been, nothing to worry about, we’ll just keep an eye on it.”
Isabel calls to tell them Eddie's been shot on a Thursday afternoon and by lunch on Friday Helena and Ramon are landing at LAX. When they land, they learn Eddie's already home recovering and has been for two weeks.
Or, Helena (and Ramon) tries to find a way back into Eddie's life and doesn't know what to make of finding Buck around every corner she turns.
