Four years pass before a chain of events causes his path to cross with that of the despondent, unfulfilled fake-psychic-turned-fake-investigator, Arataka Reigen. Reigen finds himself in over his head caring for an escaped victim of abuse who, for reasons unfathomable, has been taught to believe his very existence is a horrifically dangerous thing…
Capturing Phantom had been easy. Keeping him contained in the GIW facility has been even easier. And the ease of it all doesn't sit right with Maddie Fenton. Nothing about her ghost-boy prisoner makes sense - her prisoner who, by all accounts, was destroyed 6 months ago. Maddie wants answers for why Phantom won't escape, and more specifically, why he won't return to the family he keeps claiming to have.

Inko Midoriya doesn't sleep much these days. In her dreams, she watches Izuku throw himself into the flames of the bus rescue All Might carried out a decade earlier. In her dreams, she watches jumbled versions of the Sports Festival where Mistuki Bakugou's boy goes too far against her own son. In her dreams, she watches Tomura Shigaraki curl his every last finger around Izuku's neck. Every time, Inko begs for someone to save him. No one ever listens. No one ever does.
The Fentons were selling their house for pennies. When it sold, it sold to a man keen on flipping properties in need of a touch up. The Fentons--husband wife and daughter--met with him to sign the final paperwork. They had only one request for him: that he not enter the basement.
