It all starts out so innocently, “palm to palm” in the first act. Then, it’s nothing but a torturous, slow descent toward heartbreak and oblivion. Aziraphale could see the writing on the wall, and he refused the fate which was playing out before them. Unfortunately, Crowley wasn’t going to understand, and simply could not be trusted to keep himself in check. The soft-hearted demon sniffling at his side was nothing but a liability.
