    Summary

This story is a combination of the television show, and a video game by Ubisoft which came out in 2020. The game is called “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.” It is set for the most part in ‘Dark Ages’ England, and involves everything from fearsome magic, to towns small and large, to people of all trades. In the game, the names of the city and region of Oxford and its shire are spelled a little differently, but still mean the same thing. (In the game, the city is 'Oxeneforda' and the county is 'Oxenefordascire.') Hope you enjoy.

Everyone winds up at a ten-pins bowling alley. That includes HRH the Prince of Wales (which is why I chose the title 'Dragon'). One great party, leading to one uncertain future. But maybe, a Christmas miracle will happen.

    Endeavour: Delights
    by Parakeetist

Set after series seven. Morse and Strange are dispatched to a bank. It turns out to be… less than they were expecting. 1971 continues.

Toward the end of the story, there is a conversation, mostly in Scots Gaelic. It goes like this:

“Gabh mo leisgeul, madam,” she said. (“Excuse me, madam.”)
“Seadh, a bhean og?” the woman returned. (“Yes, young miss?”)
“Dè cho fada ‘s a bhios an taigh-tasgaidh sin fosgailte?” (“Until what time will that museum be open?”)
“Gu seachd feasgar an-diugh.” (“Until seven this evening.”)
“Tapadh leat gu mòr.” (“Thank you very much.”)
“Chan eil trioblaid ann.” (“No problem.”)

The trip to Edinburgh is a nod to the upbringing of one of the actors.

If I’ve made any errors, either in Scots or in English, please forgive me.

And to those who may think, "There can't be any happy titles in this series, because nothing happy ever happens," let me remind you of 'Confections' from series six. Not a happy ending to the episode, but still, there was chocolate.

    Thank you.

    Summary

This story is to replace a scene which was deleted from Series Six. You can see it in the artwork for the show. It’s toward the center of the illustration: Endeavour is facing Joan. Miss Thursday reaches out and touches his right cheek. For reasons I’ve never entirely heard, they erased that scene, so it’s no longer in the show. I thought I’d explain what was going to happen. What I thought might have happened, anyway.

Starts in series six. Some events have been moved up in time. Departs considerably from the canon.

    Thank you.

    Summary

This story borrows heavily from that of the virus of which the world became aware in late 2019 and early 2020. I've set it back in time.

Story takes place between series seven and eight.

Oxford has a Medieval fair. Morse somehow winds up on the living chessboard. Then he gets a cough, which doesn’t seem to stop...

Joan and Morse attend a celebration for a friend. An unwelcome guest shows up.

Set between series seven and eight. Continues from the story 'Return.'

Set after series seven. The homecoming of someone who had been away for work.

Warning: contains a graphic sexual incident. Hence the Teen rating.

Also has a couple of lines I stole from various songs and TV shows.

    Continuing on from ‘Dancer.’

It’s 1970. Jim Strange has sideburns. Morse wears a denim jacket. Miss Joan Thursday grapples with strange visions in the night. Who knows what’s going on? I sure don’t.

Title taken from an anachronistic song:

    ‘This human form
    Where I was born
    I now repent’

    Summary

Set during Endeavour's university days. He takes an accidental dose of something at a party, and winds up learning some unpleasant things about the real world.

I am sure this is not the way the relationship between Morse and Fallon happened. It is a part of Morse's life I wanted to explore. This is the result.

    Some semi-graphic sexual encounters.

Set after ‘Stars.’ Some time after the fifth season.

Contains a couple of love scenes. Nothing too garish.

I removed a couple of fact errors from the story.

There is a scene in which one of the major characters attempts to take her own life. DO NOT COPYCAT. If you need help: https://ibpf.org/resource/list-

An explanation of the title, a reference to the healing powers of the Greek god Apollo:

This story is not in line with my others. I have jammed together parts of series four and six.

‘Trisagion’ is the name of a Greek series of prayers, as well as a hymn. It means ‘thrice holy’ and is pronounced “tri-sah-yee-on.”

The scene which takes place at Mr. Morton's house is what I had planned for the original ending of ‘Shadow.’

    Thank you.

This is an alternate ending to the fourth series’ finale, “Harvest.” I would have much preferred this scene to the real one.

It is my first story in prose for this site. I wrote it all in one sitting, in a few hours.

No violence or foul language in this one. There's a scene of intimacy.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy.

    Summary

This is a combination of my love for “Endeavour” and “Moonlighting,” my two all-time favorite shows.

I had to change the title of this one. I forgot there already was an 'Endeavour' episode called 'Ride.'

A very young David Addison visits the Thames Valley Police, and learns a lot, on a “ride along with the police” mission.

APB stands for all-points bulletin. It is sent by police, to tell them to look for a suspect.

A termination is a U.K. word for an abortion.

I threw in a few “special guests,” starting in Act Four.

In Act Five, Scene One, there is a scene which takes place in a church. It features the Presence Lamp, which in the Anglican, Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches, is a reminder of the belief in the ‘Real Presence’ - that of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Also in Act Five, Scene One, the scene borrows heavily from a novel by Katherine Kurtz. She’s an excellent writer. I highly recommend her Deryni books.

The story takes place in the early part of series six.

Story contains graphic depictions of violence, foul language, and sexual situations.

    Hope you enjoy.

    Summary

This one is different. Morse must undergo training to continue at the police department. He has strange visions of the future.

Once again, I have widged around with many events and people in the timeline. This story is, once again, outside the usual time arc. This is set just before series six. It’s named after two anachronistic songs.

“But today / all the lights went out in Heaven” - Marcy Playground, “All the Lights Went Out,” 1999

And, of course: “There is a light, and it never goes out” - from the song of the same name
    - The Smiths, 1986

Crackers are the American term for a rectangular or circular light baked bread snack.

The plot refers to a man who catches a precursor of AIDS, called Kaposi’s sarcoma. It involved nodes appearing on the patient’s body, which looked like fingertips. At the time, few treatments were available, and many patients just lingered and died. Now, there are various treatments for AIDS.

The Thames Valley Police have an Instragram: https://www.instagram.com/thamesvalleypolice/

The story contains foul language, graphic violence, and sexual situations. It also contains the death of a VERY major character.

    Thanks for reading.
