Summary
Set in Oxford, in early 1969, after the close of “Union.”
(Please note, I have no idea what the actual geography of Oxford is like. I just imagine the Tolkien papers, if they have any, being kept in some library, at some college. Forgive any errors.)
A robbery sees the loss of key papers from the Tolkien collection. Morse and Lewis follow the trail from the crime scene, to the Eagle and Child, where the Inklings used to meet, to neo-Nazi ultranationalist groups. Illness threatens the peace of the Thursday household. Endeavour and Joan have a rehearsal to go to. It’ll be a busy season at the Thames Valley PD.
Warning: some foul language, graphic depictions of violence, and graphic sexual situations.
Also, story contains the death of a major character.
I have again invented some names and locations.

Set in late 1968 and early 1969, around the beginning of series six, and right after the close of “Shadow.” A new detective joins the Thames Valley PD. Someone in Joan’s life comes back for a visit – with sinister results. Endeavour and Joan are tested early.
I have invented a maiden name for the future Valerie Lewis. If anyone knows what her actual premarital surname was, please fill me in.
Also, I have no idea where the good hotels are in Oxford. As before, I have invented some names and locations.

Summary
Set in the time between the fifth and sixth seasons. Late 1968. Morale is down at headquarters, given the death of George Fancy. Confusion is up, with the merger of the two stations. Features the standard main characters, plus some new ones.
Please note, I have done my best to depict the workings of the English justice system. Any errors are mine.
For the purposes of this story, DCI Fred Thursday is referred to as Thursday, and his wife's full name Winifred is used throughout.
