“Are you nervous?” Komori asks, "You haven’t seen him in a while.”
I haven’t seen him in seven years, Kiyoomi thinks with a sour taste in his mouth.
Ever since he left Inarizaki’s Kingdom to return to his own and continue his training in fighting and strategy, he hasn’t seen those molten honey brown eyes, hasn’t heard that annoying accent that makes something in his gut flip, hasn’t seen his best friend, the boy, now man, that kept him up at night for almost seven years.
Of course he’s nervous, but he’d be damned if he’s going to admit it to Komori of all people.
“I am not nervous.” He repeats, looking out of the window to see a castle rising up amongst the mountains in the near distance.
His heart jumps, and his leg starts jolting again.
Fine, maybe he is nervous.

The man chuckles darkly, shifting to peel his wet shirt from his skin. “You can’t help me, kid. Just go do what you were doing before, I’ll handle this.”
Atsumu grabs his shaking hands, stopping him from fucking up his wound even more. “Are you stupid? You’re dying, you’re not handling this.”
“You know who you’re calling stupid?” the man smirks, eyes trained on Atsumu’s hands over his own.
“Yeah, someone stupid,” Atsumu snaps, his fear turning his tone sharper than he intends. “My apartment is right around the corner, I have a first aid kit.”
