    Summary

Fucking and music: the twin triumphs of humans. Oh, both existed before humanity, but humanity refined them. A sparrow sings in a tree. A dog fucks in the dirt. But a human -- a human -- they sing of their lost love over the sea, in a sweet voice wrenched with pain; they make love beneath the stars, contemplating their brief existence. They ascribe meaning to every little thing. It’s glorious. Hypnotic. They have such brief lives but by all that ever was, they make them count.

    Summary

When Jaskier gets invited to play a few songs for the patients of the mental health ward his best friend Triss works at, he doesn't expect much of it. After all, he's just a music teacher with a guitar, the most he can do for these people is to entertain them for a short while.

But then he finds out about Geralt, who's spent the past few months in the ward without even leaving his room, and Jaskier realizes that he might still be able to make a difference, after all.

    Summary

When the days shorten and the trees shrug off their rusty coats Jaskier knows it is time to head towards Oxenfurt. They are somewhere in Temeria on their way to the little village of Anchor. Any day now, Geralt will feel a particular chill in the air and instinctively steer them towards the Pontar. There, Jaskier will steel himself and make some noise about the cold or the stinginess of the crowd – a prelude to his annual soliloquy about how it is about time he heads towards the harbouring arms of the university and its candelabra’d comforts: sans dirt, sans drowner guts, and sans Witcher.

He strums his lute and sings, “Oh White Wolf, I fear if you do not hear my plea for an ear to my woe, I shall have to go bare, and just so we’re clear, my pants’ll be the first things to go.”

Roach huffs, and a coin comes sailing towards him, hitting him in the forehead.

    “Fucking ow, you fuck.”

Geralt snorts. “Just tossing a coin to my barker.”

Jaskier is going to miss him so much.

Dear Reader, I present to you a tale of love, the value of faith and communication, and quite a ridiculous amount of horse content.

    Summary

Jaskier stared in horror at the man before him.

No, not man, because no man would ever do something so horrifying and appalling such as this without so much as a twitch to his face, and even though Jaskier spent most of his time and effort trying to convince this self-deprecating hunk of a witcher that no, he was not a heartless monster and was in fact, still human in many aspects, Jaskier could not bring himself to do it now. Not this time.

    Maybe not ever.

You know how some game mechanics make sense in games but are absolutely ridiculous in real life?

Crackfic where instead of grand adventures and heroics, Jaskier spends his travels having to deal with Geralt’s absurd behavior - from horrifying eating habits, his ridiculous collection of broken rakes, aggressive herb gathering techniques, to a frankly scary obsession with Gwent, among other things.
