An essay I wrote for AP Lang that compares Star Wars and Star Trek (with the goal of convincing you Star Trek is better).
Just a few of the many times Michael came to General Riesen for advice.

Rodimus swivels his head back to stare at Orion, and Megatron can see his eyes catch on the differences: the lack of Autobot badge, the smaller chassis, all the little changes and details that Megatron had spent centuries cataloging. With a visible jolt of understanding, Rodimus straightens and drops his weapon back down to his side, his characteristic grin stealing across his face. “No, that’s not Optimus,” he agrees. “But he didn’t steal anyone’s sparkprint. You’re Orion Pax, aren’t you? From the Functionist Universe.”

Ratchet was thrust into the spotlight after becoming the conjunx of elite seeker Pharma. While his senator-berating exploits had made news before, he never expected there would be any long-lasting interest in him otherwise.
And then the Dead End scandal hit the front page.

Soft Memory Errors
Soft Memory Errors is a re-examination of MTMTE Drift/Deadlock's character, in an attempt to fully utilize a character built from interesting concepts with patchy (or non-existent) execution. What started as a one-off drabble turned into this series when the 2020 quarantine left me with a lot more time on my hands than I anticipated. The series title is a reference to the computing glitch soft memory error, as the series has a recurring theme of fragmenting memories and the residual processor damage Drift sustained.

Protecting the people he cared about from his own past was the one thing that could prompt Drift to pick up his guns again. But now with the threat of the DJD over, he has to deal with the aftermath of his decision.
And then there's the matter of Megatron.
[Please note: this fic is undergoing thorough renovation - when I began writing it, it was a drabble collection, and I hadn't done the meta research on Drift's character I now have. I'm leaving it up for now for people to enjoy, but this will be rehauled in the near-future into a chronological fic with a take on Drift's character that as of now is only really shown in the later installments.]
