There are so many things Lin hadn’t thought possible a few months ago. Reconciliation with her sister, a niece who adores her, and facing off against Zaheer among them. When that same unexpected adoring niece asks to stay with her while everyone recovers from Zaheer’s attack, she surprises herself by agreeing. The bigger surprise however is that Kya, someone she’s hardly spoken to in years, comes to stay too.
Kya is used to being the one to mend everyone else’s wounds but it becomes abundantly clear that she must attend to her own before she can begin to help anyone else. She is surprised when Lin of all people welcomes her into her home to convalesce.
