Summary
After saving half his crew from a deserted island, Stede has heard the most troubling gossip. Ed, going on a rampage and sinking ships? Not even bothering to loot them? He knows they didn't part on the best terms, but something must be amiss. He resolves to go and confront the great Blackbeard himself, hoping he doesn't get sunk in the process.
Meanwhile, aboard the Revenge, Ed resolves to prove himself a monster. During one attack on a transport ship, Izzy convinces him to hold two posh children for ransom. Unfortunately, it seems that those two children are more familiar than he would prefer. -

The petrified orange rolled to a stop. Ed bent down to pick it up, as he held it out for Stede to take. “Dropped this, don’t lose your treasure, mate.” He smiled, watching as Stede’s own smile lit up again; the pain near his heart subsided a little as Stede reached out for the object.
He put his hand around the orange as Ed held onto it, fingers brushing against the other, neither of them noticing the strange glow coming from it similar to—
-- The way the sunrise cast gold around them, the kiss parting slowly. His heart was soaring, he could not remember the last time he had felt this good about anything.
Sometimes, a treasure is just a piece of junk. Sometimes, a treasure is a petrified orange. Sometimes, that petrified orange is…something else entirely. Like a weird time travel thing that makes people relive past events and get glimpses of the future. It's all completely normal.
It's not. Not by a long shot.
