    Summary

Owen Grady had always had a talent for animals. Like his grandfather. It was a talent that ran in the families.

Masrani Global recruited him to train raptors. It was an intriguing, novel idea, something only a crazy or insane person would attempt.

Owen wasn't crazy or insane. He knew he could do this.

He just didn't know how deep he would get into it, how strong the connection to the pack would become, how close... they, the four of them, would become to him.

His grandfather had always warned him: don't get too close. Don't let them connect. Well, it was too late for that now.

Great series, in which you see the very slow (and consequently more realistic) development of a bond between Owen and his four raptors. Much of it is relationship-driven, just human and raptors gradually learning about each other and learning how they fit together. Blue is fantastic, as the beta-Alpha (she's fanatical about supporting the human Alpha, though, very loyal) and the other three, Charlie, Delta and Echo, who are slightly younger and have a slightly different bond. It turns out Owen is 'talented', a euphemism for a small, tight-lipped group of people who are preternatural and can telepathically (or empathically, rather) reach out to animals.

But Owen is different, his bond is much more solid and binding: the feared bond that all the talented say you must never make lest you lose yourself. But because of the raptors being who they are, and enhanced the way they are, it works. Owens talent slowly grows, over the years, until he can sense the other dinos at the park as well, particularly the predators.

Meanwhile, there is drama, like the i-rex, injuries to both the raptors and their human Alpha, the smugglers, the idiot intern. And while it happens, Owen gets to know other trainers at the park, some of whom are quietly talented -- although far less so than he. And eventually, he kind of ascends to some super-Alpha status, although he consistently refuses to expand his pack (his girls are very jealous of their Alpha) and control any animals other than what he has to do to save his life.

He has a family and friends in his little pack, and also a group of solid, loving human friends in the park. It's a lovely peek at his life.

Style is a little choppy and overemphatic, but story is fascinating, so no big deal.

    Summary

Captain America and the Winter Soldier meet for the first time in 2015. Now Bucky, after years of torture at Hydra's and more as a prisoner of S.H.I.E.L.D., is being given the chance to gain his freedom. All he has to do, is complete a mission with a team he can't stand while following the orders of yet another pompous, controlling Alpha. Steve thinks he can get his team through their most difficult mission to date, so long as he can get the smell of the Winter Soldier's heat out of his nose.

Very well-written. The first part is mostly Steve, Bucky, Tony and Natasha slowly making their way through a building trying to find the evil scientist within, and it's amazing how much tension there is in one empty room after another. And during these intense hours, everyone gets to know each other, and possibly even develop some rudimentary trust. POV switches, and the authors have done a great job in making everyone interesting and important while still keeping Steve and Bucky as the focus.

Steve's an Alpha, and his team is made up of omegas, but he isn't fucking any of them, which confuses Bucky (who is an outsider, having been released from prison on the condition that he join these people for a mission). It's later revealed (in an angsty situation) that they consider themselves Steve's pack (which is kind of illegal these days?) Also, Tony is compatible with Steve, but bonded to a different Alpha (Pepper), but still the two scent mark each other pretty often, which somehow raises Bucky's hackles.

And then they find the hellhounds. There's lots of action then, it's pretty visceral and exciting and exhausting.

After their harrowing mission is over, they return, there's some very steamy sex, and then Bucky runs away, kinda wrecking Steve, b/c there's a rudimentary bond between them. Bucky encounters a nice Alpha (heh, a skinny little blond artist) who tries to help him pull his head out of his ass. Steve's family/pack try to do the same for him. There's a lot of delicious angst and pining and misunderstandings.

I'm interested to see what happens in the sequel, when they finish it....

    Heh. It's a snafu.
    *******
Dean woke up to Sam's voice, offended and unhappy. "I can't believe you kicked me out of Heaven!"

"You were causing a disturbance," Castiel said.

    "Just because—"

"Sam?" Dean bolted out of bed, and he ignored Sam's look of horror—it wasn't like Dean had the power to magically shift clothes onto his body, so Sam was just going to have to suck it up and deal—to pull him into a hug.

"Where are your clothes?" Sam asked.

"You don't want to know," Dean said at the same time as Castiel said, "I removed them."

"Dean's right, I didn't want to know." Despite his words, Sam hugged Dean back with bruising force, like it wasn't affection until someone got hurt.

"So," Dean said finally, "how was Heaven?"

"I'll tell you whatever you want to know," Sam said, "if it gets you to put on some pants."

    Summary

When Loki finds a de-aged Thor wandering alone on the battlefield, Loki takes the five year old child in and resolves to figure out how Thor was transformed and why...

    -----

The whimpering grows into sobbing and Loki waves the steam away with a sweep of his arm to reveal a blond haired boy wandering across the cracked pavement.

The child stumbles over Mjolnir and falls to the ground. Loki starts and not because the child is crying anew, but because Mjolnir shifted a small measure as the boy’s weight leaned against it. The hammer moves for no one save for the God of Thunder himself.

“Thor?” Loki questions and before he becomes fully aware of what he’s doing, Loki sweeps in, snatching the child into his arms.

So very sweet, and tugs at the heartstrings, b/c Loki really truly has to learn a new way of thinking.

Peter doesn’t date coworkers. Wade sets out to change his mind. Written for this prompt: (http://writing-challenges-and-prompts.tumblr.com/post/149304093478/writing-prompt-dialogue). See end notes for full prompt.

Notes/Warnings: AU, but not in a difficult way. Deadpool is an Avenger, Spider-Man is not. Um. This is pretty much just porn that caught feelings along the way . . . and maybe stepped in some humor, too.
