    Summary

Jaskier knows that, for the most part, he’s useless. A burden. He’s pretty and he sings well, but he doesn't have much more to offer Geralt on his Path. Medicine, though, is a decidedly useful skill. It’s one that does not require strength or fighting ability- just a sharp mind and hours of study. And oh, how Jaskier has studied.

If only Vesemir would stop underestimating him.

Part of a series, technically, but can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Told [Geralt] I was playing in taverns down the mountain and shacked up with a healer instead. Lovely old lady, quite good at knitting. She talked my ear off about tinctures and salves and stitches and the like- I filled a whole notebook.

Few people get a second chance. Few people get the opportunity to make the right decision after a mistake.
If you got a do-over, what would you do? What would you change?
There aren't many who get the chance to actually make those decisions.
    But Steve Rogers did.
    And he saved the world.
Just not in the way he thought he would.

“But he was crap at it! Everyone thought he was nuts!”

“Yes. But it worked out since removing Mr. Rogers, removing his influence and reputation, the blind trust others had in him, was what saved us. The world was much better off without him.”

    Summary

"I don’t know how this happened. I don’t yet know why. But this is definitely Anakin’s fault."

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master, Exile, and now Force Ghost, was pleased with the way things had turned out. The Sith were dead. His padawan had returned to the Light. And Luke Skywalker was beginning to lay the foundation for his new Jedi Order. And while Luke, Leia, Han, and the Rebellion cleaned up the last traces of the Empire on the physical plane, he and Anakin would devote the next stage of their afterlives to repairing the damage Sidious and his ilk wrought on the Force itself.

At least, that was the plan.

After a disaster on the cosmic scale that Obi-Wan is still trying to wrap his mind around, he finds himself back in the early days of the Clone Wars, Commander Cody loyally at his side, Anakin at his back, and Sidious plotting against the Jedi at every turn. He's been given an unasked for chance to do everything over again. And with the Force as his ally, he intends to set the galaxy on a brighter path than the one it's currently on.

Timetravel Methodology: Rifts in the Force

"A disturbing thought comes to mind. Or perhaps, a slightly heretical one. The disturbance without cause, a mission without a purpose, the planet being one and the same as the battle where Sidious made his post-mortem attack. It was almost as if… as if the Force was preparing him to find Luke and Leia here. Just in case.

For the first time in his life, Obi-Wan wonders if perhaps the Force deals in contingencies. It would make sense, he thinks. Redundancies in the universe, in the plan, to allow for both free will and the Will of the Force. Luke and Leia’s very existence is proof of that. Children of Light, conceived as their father became increasingly drawn to the Dark Side"

So I mentioned a while ago in the Discord server that there's a lot of pieces of worldbuilding I've been doing in the background that won't make it into NSBS or will only be kind of touched on. When I asked if people would be interested in a collection of all of it, plus a few rambling explanations of my thought process for a few things, the answer

The debates about Dark and Light aside, the Jedi widely accepted three ways of viewing the Force, which were the Unifying Force, the Living Force and the Cosmic Force.

A few cultures were quite happy to let them keep their delusions on the matters of Wild Force and Undying Force.
