Buck's new girlfriend is kind of perfect.
As much as Eddie knows he should like her, he just… can’t.
Of course, he wants his best friend to be happy, but this… her… it’s too much.
He’d thought maybe they could finally get their shit together. Maybe they could get together. He’d been waiting for a chance. He’d been willing to try. He even made a plan.
Then she showed up.
Buck was woken up by his phone ringing. It took him a moment to find it in the dark, half asleep, and he just answered it without looking; maybe something had happened with Maddie or Eddie?
“Hello,” he said, groggily, trying to shake the sleep from his head.
“Hi, Buck, it’s Josh, I’m sorry to be calling at this hour,” Josh’s voice said from the other end of the line, sounding slightly worried.
“Hey, Josh, did something happen? Is someone hurt?” Buck asked, his mind going instantly to Maddie, and he was suddenly feeling a lot more awake.
There was a pause and Buck heard Josh take in a breath before saying quickly, “Okay, I’m not supposed to tell you this, but I just responded to a 911 call from Taylor Kelly and Maddie told me you’ve been seeing her again and I thought you should know.”
“Wait, Taylor?” Buck interrupted, confusion colouring his voice.
