No one would ever choose him over Sam. That's just logic.

Black. Requited love. You two may not be destined to be together, but you love each other unconditionally. Most people have these, and don't bother trying to find their soulmates if they're happy with the one they're with.
Finally, red. The worst one. Unrequited love. You get one when you love someone but they don't have the same feelings for you. It's very unfortunate.
