After Stiles gets hurt...again, Derek puts him on the metaphorical supernatural bench. Meanwhile, Stiles tries to have a normal life and make normal friends. But when a new pack comes to town and the Hales start getting threats, things start to get a little....not normal.
Something is seriously up with the captain of the lacrosse team. There's just no way Derek Hale is human.
“I was wondering if you're even human. You move so quickly. I mean, it's ridiculously fast. No human should be able to move that fast, y'know? It's unfair for us. I mean, it's obvious you work out, and I don't, so that could be why, but like...I was just wondering if you were human, that's all.”
“Stop talking, Stilinski, or I'll—”
“Put me on the bench all season?” Stiles asks knowing full well that Derek Hale can't threaten him with shit.
Stiles is bored.
It always happens this time of year. It's the middle of August, summer is winding to a close, and he's run out of things to distract him. He's marathoned Buffy four times and as much as he loves it, Spike is starting to be a little less charming and a little more irritating. It's also not helping that Scott barely has enough time to separate his lips from Allison's to tell him he can't hang out.
Scott is officially the worst best friend ever.

- Part 1 of Call Me, Text Me If You Want To Date Me (If You Want To Sext Me, That's More Than Alright)
When Kate Argent kills most of his family, Derek makes a deal with a Nogitsune in order to avenge their deaths. In exchange for killing his first love, however, the Nogitsune demands Derek’s next one as payment, whenever Derek falls again. Never believing he’d make the mistake of opening his heart to anyone else, Derek takes the deal.
Fortunately, the only thing the Nogitsune likes more than pain is riddles, and when it finally comes for Stiles, it offers Derek a chance: if he can guess the Nogitsune’s name before the time runs out, Derek can keep the boy. The only problem is, Derek doesn’t even know Stiles’ actual name, and that soon becomes an issue in and of itself.
A Teen Wolf twist on the Rumpelstiltskin tale, initially inspired by the fact that Stiles’ name is nearly impossible to guess in three tries. Written for the Sterek Writing Room's 'Fairy Tale September' prompt.
