“Angel,” Jaehyun says softly, getting Taeil’s attention. “The Antichrist is here,” Jaehyun says simply, letting the words tumble onto the table between them, as if it’s a normal thing to say. Taeil watches him unblinking, waiting for the punchline. But it never comes.

“You can be at ease,” the king said, coming closer to him but stopping a few steps away. “No harm in any form will come to you here, by me nor by anyone else under my rule.”
Despite the reassuring words and the gentle and sincere look in those amber-colored eyes, Taeil couldn’t help but be distrustful.
“And how do I know that you speak the truth, Your Majesty?” He knew that it would have been best to remain silent, but he couldn't hold his tongue. “For all I know, you could be a monster.”
The king’s eyes widened slightly, a faint hint of astonishment painting them for a second. As fast as those emotions flashed in his irises, he scolded his face back to a neutral. “You sure are something else. You must know that such words are dangerous. You must have a death wish. What is your name?”
