Summary
Diluc strode back across the room and let himself fall on one of the chairs across from Kaeya, the sound of his movements making Kaeya turn enough to look at him.
His glass, Diluc noted, was completely empty now.
Kaeya sighed. “Why are you here, Diluc?”
Again, a question Diluc had no answer to.
So he gave the closest to the truth he could muster, reaching for the bottle of Death by Noon. “I’m here to drink.”

Summary
Kaeya knows that—even without the Captain telling him, Kaeya knows his worth, which is none. He is living on borrowed time, after all, and borrowed identity—take away the Ragnvindrs' wardship, strip him off of his Knights' uniform, and what is left of him is a scared child of a dying nation, burdened with a duty that he is destined to fail.
He is worth nothing, and yet.

Summary
Unbelievable. Rosaria sighs. If she lets Kaeya steer the conversation, he’ll just be dancing around it forever. Just as he’s been dancing around his adopted brother forever. He always does this. It drives her insane and he knows it. “...wondering if you wanted to talk about it. You and this Lucas guy were tight, as far as I remember. Ever since you were kids. You moved out of his house and quit his company. Now you’re back here in this budget apartment shithole. What gives?”
“It’s Luc. Di-luc.” Kaeya corrects her in mid-chew. She could never remember his name for some god forsaken reason. Yet she has no problems reciting those verses in ancient Khaenri'ahn with her eyes closed.
