    Summary

It was unsurprising that another overreaching Orlesian would be attempt to pass off their base lusts as art illustrating their most recent holy figure.

Indeed, it must have held a special appeal: purity and perversion twisted together in one beautiful body. Loathe as he was to admit it, the artist had depicted the very icon of that perfectly in this portrait.

“Creators,” she breathes, biting back a whimper.

“Why do you call for them?” Solas inquires, gently didactic, reasonable. His voice is in that paradoxical place between liquid smooth and darkly rough. The tongue of disaster is honeyed. “They cannot hear.”

I Love this solavellan dynamic omg
Solas with all the angst of fen’harel
Like you get the sense that this is the solas that lead the rebellion, “strikes fear in your enemies” THIS IS THAT DUDE but he’s also the one that smooched ya in the fade, approves when you give back a Dalish promise ring, helps the refugees
Super insane sense of duty and moral compass

Lavellan is unique and amazing too like pragmatic but not too jaded idk?? She’s interesting to read
Ugh I’ve only read two chapters but it really is just THAT good

She finds more than she expected.

“Hawke?” she asked hesitantly. “Is that you? Why are you a bird?”

The bird fluffed its black and white-barred chest feathers and shook out its wings, which did have a prodigious span.

“I’m a hawk, get it?” the bird announced.

Carys tilted her head and studied it for a moment.

“I think you’re a Greater Marches fish eagle. They used to roost down by the Waking Sea in those dead snags by the water.”

"Balls," said Hawke, and turned back into the Champion of Kirkwall.
