- Devil May Cry (2)
Open and honest communication has never been Vergil's strongest point - not as a child, struggling to make his way in a world he though had abandoned him, and certainly not now. As it so happens, Dante isn't very good at it either.
They're brothers - bound by shared blood and an inherited legacy stretching back over 2,000 years - but sometimes having a shared bond isn't enough. Even when the bad blood has been drained away, how far can this bond stretch before something has to give?
(They better be glad Nero loves them as much as he does, or else he'd have launched himself head-first into a brick wall by now. Lady and Trish, too.)
Set in Demonized's "No Matter What They Say", in which Dante and Vergil are sent back into their 7-year old bodies after jumping off the Qliphoth at the end of DMC 5. Can be read as its own separate thing as it was written back before chapter 2 of NMWTS came out.
Eva looks to her children - 7 in body and 43 in mind - and finds herself at a loss on what to do. Perhaps a talk with her husband will help put things into perspective.
