The boy looks like a dream, the way the sunlight streams through the open door, lighting up his silhouette as he strides into the cabin.
If Stiles didn’t already know he was bisexual he definitely would know now.
He closes his mouth. “Okay, dad, I changed my mind, I’ll stay for the summer,” he says hastily, and hangs up the phone.

Stiles sees it when he’s grocery shopping, the display hardly touched, people opting for the cheaper, non-heart shaped packages of steak. He gets it, he really does, after all, what’s the point of buying specially packaged meats for your significant other if you’re just gonna take the thing out of the box and cook it, anyways?
But if you had a werewolf sweetheart, this would be awesome, right?
Stiles snaps a photo and sends it to Kira, asking if she’s got a present for Scott yet. She texts him back a second later with, aw thanks i already got him a present when i went xmas shopping tho
And then: u should give it to ur werewolf ;)
Stiles stares at his phone, because he doesn’t have a werewolf. Well, technically he has a crush on a werewolf, but that doesn’t really count.
He buys the steak anyways.

Derek has been very, very patient, and has shown frankly incredible self-control in the face of brutal teasing and flirting for two months. But now it's time for the mating run, and he's about to get his reward.
Except for how maybe it's actually Stiles getting a treat.
Derek knows the system is rigged in favor of Alphas with impeccable skills, the anonymous judging system in the early part of the selection process ensuring only those who have spent their entire lives honing certain talents even make it past the first round. But he can’t stomach the idea of Stiles picking anyone of those ridiculous Alphas or going home with them, can’t imagine any of them possibly making Stiles happy.
In which Omegas are a minority and have their pick of Alphas, who must demonstrate their skill in everything from baking to swordfighting to knitting.

The guy is back again. Derek watches curiously from his counter, idly keeping an eye on the teenaged vampires trying to decide on a type from the blood popsicle selection. The guy outside the store is a little pale and lanky, with a cute upturned nose and a sprinkle of moles on his pale face, not that Derek didn’t notice the first time he stopped in the middle of the bustling street to stare at Derek’s store sign, which he wasn’t supposed to be able to do.
