Summary
Wei Wuxian does not die. The Wen survivors do not die. The Yiling Burial Mounds was not laid siege upon. The Yiling Patriarch erects an invisible barrier around the Yiling Burial Mounds that isolates him and his people from the rest of the world.
As the years past, people speak the name Yiling Patriarch to frighten children into being obedient, but the demonized patriarch no longer steps into their world. Tentative peace is observed by the cultivation world and all is well—until one child decides to go night hunting for the demon of Yiling. The secrets connecting the slumbering demon to the great sects of the cultivation world are deep, dark, and unimaginably heinous. What could a child running around cursed lands in hopes of sighting this demon possibly uncover that is more shocking than the history of the Yiling Burial Mounds itself?
