“If it’s a curse, then it won’t just wear off on its own,” Shichirō says, frowning as he examines Kalego’s small, fluffy familiar form. “Did Opera-senpai mention a way to break it?”
It’s hard to tell with Kalego’s beak, but Shichirō gets the distinct feeling that Kalego’s scowl just deepened.
“It’s a very classic type of curse,” Dali offers, and his grin seems to be widening in direct proportion to Kalego’s scowl.
“Don’t – ” Kalego starts, a warning in his tone, but he’s a beat too late, as Shichirō blurts out, “True love?”
(Or: Beauty and the Beast, sort of. Yes, Shichirō is Belle.)
“Look,” Samatoki sighs, breaking Ramuda from his thoughts. “I don’t care what sort of stupid fight you and Jakurai-sensei are having, but it better not get in the way today. Negotiations with the Edogawa faction are in less than an hour.”
He has his hair slicked back, Ramuda realizes. He’s wearing a familiar black leather jacket, one that Ramuda hasn’t seen in years, and a quick glance at Ichirō finds that he’s also dressed in old clothes, his red hoodie making him look younger, face a little rounder than Ramuda remembers it.
The two of them look exactly like they did two years ago.
(Or: Ramuda gets sent back in time two years. He makes some different choices.)
“Are you – ” hurt? Sabito starts to say, as he drops down next to the boy, but he swallows the unnecessary question and changes it to, “Can you move? Where are you hurt?”
The boy blinks at him slowly, and for a moment Sabito gets distracted by the inky blackness of his eyes.
Then, the boy smiles.
“You’re okay,” the boy murmurs, slurred and so soft that Sabito almost misses it.
“Yeah,” Sabito confirms. His forearms still sting a little, but he doesn’t bother to check for blood. “Yeah, I’m fine.” A split-second pause and then, “You saved me.”
(Or: Giyū remembers his past life. Sabito does not.)
“I’m not saying Kaoru doesn't like my food,” Kojirō tells Reki, as he starts to gather up the empty bowls. “He just doesn’t want to admit it. The day Kaoru compliments my food will be the day hell freezes over.”
(Or: 4 times Cherry complains about Joe's food + 1 time he compliments it.)
“There are much closer hospitals in Shibuya,” Jakurai says. It’s not phrased as a question, but he doesn’t miss the nervous look Arisugawa shoots Yumeno.
“Ramuda has a – ” Yumeno hesitates. “Chronic condition, that he’d rather people didn’t know about.”
“Then I doubt he’d appreciate you bringing him to me,” he says.
