    Summary

In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them.

The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.

Other consequences are not short-term at all.

    Summary

The functional Point Of Departure is that Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy have a child before Draco, and consequently their development is slightly different. By the time Draco meets Harry, he's realized the value of friendship and is more open of a person. The POD for Harry is when he meets Draco in Madam Malkin's robe shop. In TSH, unlike canon, he introduces himself to Draco. They shake hands and decide to be friends. They spend the next month before school exchanging letters, and on the train Harry is introduced to other children Draco knows. We see Ron and Hermione, but Harry doesn't interact with them. Things really deviate from canon when Harry is Sorted into Slytherin. The story is distinct from the many other Harry-in-Slytherin fics because it doesn't turn on Harry being sorted to Slytherin but rather on Harry becoming friends with Draco. This fanfic is an attempt to tell the big overplot of the Harry Potter series using the Slytherin characters.

    Summary

When Petunia Dursley refused to take Harry in she forfeited his birthright protection, so Dumbledore took the baby to the safest place he knew: Hogwarts.

The applicable staff (mostly just… not Snape) took Harry in on a rotating schedule as he grew from baby to toddler to child. They traded extra credit for babysitting among the older students, and Harry grew up knowing a few dozen different laps that were safe and warm to nap in.

This was a Harry who grew up among books, among old transient walls and learned professors. They gave Binns night duty sometimes, and let him talk young Harry to sleep. This was a Harry whose world changed, on principle, daily. The stairs moved. The walls became doors. You had to keep your eyes open–you had to pay attention. So he did.

He grew up in a school. Knowledge was power, but knowledge was also joy. This was his sanctuary. There was magic in his world from birth.

    Summary

This series started from a simple idea that has become a popular theme since the release of the new Fantastic Beasts film.
Specifically, what if the Dursleys' abuse (which everyone agrees is canon, at least to some extent) led to Harry becoming an Obscurial. Given that jumping off point, I decided to explore the consequences of this notion. In this case, things kick off well before Harry reaches Hogwarts age with the emergence of the Obscurus in Part 1.

Part 1: Unexpected Consequences is complete. It covers Harry and Sirius' initial reunion in 1985.

Part 2: A Tale of Two Letters is complete. It takes place six year later, in the summer of 1991, and covers the Hogwarts invitations and the realizations that come in the aftermath of those letters' delivery.

Part 3: Irregular Homecomings is complete. It takes place starting in the summer of 1994, and is the events of Goblet of Fire in this universe.

Part 4: Appendices are reference notes for the series. Each chapter is independent, and chapters are posting periodically.
