Kirishima wipes the tears from his eyes. “Yeah, she was my mom.”
Bakugou had never been a fan of the word ‘was’. It always came with a sense of finality. He was my best friend. He was the love of my life.
She was my mom.
Was brought grief. Was brought ends. It left a bitter taste in the mouths of those who said it. One that screamed, this is an ending to a story that hasn’t been finished.
He hated endings too.
On March twenty-first, for the first time ever, Kirishima seems far away, sad. And here he is leaving Bakugou alone on prom night.

He tried to come up with reasons why Bakugou wouldn’t want anyone to know about them. About him.
Was he ashamed..?
Kirishima tried to push the thought away. Bakugou wouldn’t give a shit if people knew he was gay. But, maybe he’d been ashamed of who people saw him with.
Especially if they made him look weak.
Or Kirishima doesn’t understand why Bakugou doesn’t want anyone to know about them, and Bakugou has to figure out how to use human words.
