    Summary

After a close encounter with death, feelings that have remain hidden are finally adressed by John and Sherlock. Inexperienced and insecure, Sherlock relies on John to show him the way, and their relationship blooms. From the beginning, they had agreed to be careful with Sherlock's carrier status, their way of life not fit to raise a child. Besides, having each other is more than enough. When Sherlock does find himself pregnant, it is a shock, for both -even more so when he decides, against all odds, to keep the child. Where to go from there? As John has come to learn, with Sherlock, nothing is ever simple, but he's always up for a challenge, especially if it's to take care and protect the mad genius he loves.

"Wait," says John. "Go over that again, the part about somatosensory stimulation?" He's not a neural specialist, but they don't let you graduate med school without learning a thing or two about the parietal lobe, and he's not at all sure he wants Sherlock using him as a subject for tactile sensation experiments. Particularly if they involve the removal of his trousers.

    Summary

Two hundred years in the future, and London is much as it ever was - big, bleak, and full of reckless humans making reckless decisions. The city (and the rest of the planet) are still reeling from widespread genetic tampering that took place over a century ago, splitting humanity into cross-species. Science's best attempts at werewolves, gargoyles, orcs and more are now a common sight on London's streets, and everyone is just about getting along.

There are rarer kinds of human lurking in the shadows, though. Some of them aren't widely known to exist - and they aren't all that willing to play nice.

This means that DI Greg Lestrade, Cross-Human Relations at Scotland Yard, has quite a lot to be dealing with, thanks.

The addition of Dr Mycroft Holmes (irascible psychologist and vampire expert) is an unexpected twist to Greg's life - and there's more in store for the pair than they could possibly imagine.
