    Summary

Illness reigns outside. Inside, Hannibal bakes too many sweets. Medicine is the best medicine, but laughter surely doesn't hurt.

    Summary

They’re sitting in front of the rickety fan in the living room, feet propped up on the coffee table. Hannibal would usually find that appalling, but he’s hardly in a state to complain. Will slants a glance over at him. He looks just as miserable as Will feels, stripped down to his underwear and dripping sweat, practically stuck to the couch. Will thinks if he picked Hannibal up, the cushions wouldn’t let him go.

Some historical accounts describe the teeth of cannibals as shark-like, but maybe it was only a trick of the light.

Okay, this alternate universe is so unapologetically cool I have stars in my eyes. Gory and hilarious and adorable. There is not a thing I don't adore.

(Should they be in need, financially, which I severely doubt due to Hannibalesque resources, they would certainly make a pretty penny by selling those wonderful, endless stocks of shark teeth every year.)

    Summary

Needing someone isn’t the same as loving them, and loving someone isn’t the same as liking them. Will and Hannibal love each other with a dozen small cruelties, stumbling their way toward something approaching peace.

There's a lot of sex involved.

These feral people being tamed by one another, and one another only, while also having their ruthless monsters within awakened by them is poetry come to life.

    Summary

Sleeping together had seemed like the practical thing to do. They had both sustained several severe injuries from the fall, and it was reasonable to maintain close proximity, lest one of them required immediate attention. It hardly registered to Will as anything but a situation born of necessity. And he could at least admit to himself that he preferred having Hannibal nearby, at any rate, though he didn’t analyze the various reasons as to why. He couldn’t allow himself. By the time they had recovered from their injuries, it didn’t seem to occur to either of them to do anything else.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Will is smitten, says the author. So am I. How in the hollies of the circles if hell can a cannibal serial killer be this endearing, charming, adorable, cute even, god forbid, I do not presume to know. So gentle and tender yet passionate and playful. The intimacy, the promise of it all. I am satiated, belly full, eyes droopy.

    Summary

Hannibal. Solid and constant like the tide, like a sun dial, like snow. Will wanted desperately to burrow as deeply into him as he could, and freeze to death.

Eventually he stopped wanting to die. The urge to burrow, however, stuck.

    or,

Will never had a father figure.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The entire of this reads like an epoch long prayer. Worshipful, from both their parts. The writing is unbearably beautiful, each word carefully chosen, the meanings and the in between the lines and the extended metaphor and the steady peek of repetition and the subtle and discreet conditioning, all of it planned ahead, calculated and then executed with stone cold precision. I feel anointed, absolved, reborn, as does Will. I feel blessed, given all I have ever thought I'd wanted as well as all I never knew I needed, as does Hannibal. I feel overwhelmed, as do they. This is wish granting, eternal and unconditional acceptance and understanding, and untamed, universe extending, ever expanding love.
