    Summary

    The thing about Tony is….

The thing about Tony is he’s built himself up from dirt and gravel. He’s been shoved to the ground, scrapped rocks across his face, burned in the hot sand, suffocated in the void of space, and now frozen in the wilds of Siberia, betrayed. Tony’s been through hell. But that’s the thing about Starks, they never stop getting up. Tony falls and he falls hard and then, he picks himself back up again and again because he can’t do anything else. He rises from the ashes and he learns from the burns.
    The Accords are no different.

Steve sends him a half assed letter and tells him to buck up and come calling, come crawling back. Tony, with the patience of a man who had already stopped breaking who was broken but mending, calmly reads through the letter.
And, after he’s done, he burns it. Along with the phone.
    Or...

Where Tony gets the family he actually needs.

    Summary

Has JARVIS always been the way he is shown in the MCU? Was he the perfect AI right from the start? Not in this tale.
JARVIS started as a clever piece of code and grew to be more. This is an evolutionary tale from "Hello World" to "At your service, Sir" and beyond. After all, one word can change the whole world.
    Excerpt:

At this point Tony was laughing so hard that tears streamed down his face. Harder than he did in years. Between hiccups and giggles he ordered JARVIS to stop the simulation. The following silence carried a note of mortification. JARVIS managed to summarize the whole endeavor in one carefully worded sentence:

"I know nothing about humans, Sir."
"True." Tony replied, fighting renewed laughter, "But you are surprisingly adept at creatively killing them."
"Thank you." JARVIS answered dryly, "It seems to be remarkably easy, Sir."

(A.N.: The Prologue uses an experimental writing style, that does not reflect the rest of the story - only parts of it...)

    Summary

Months after the Avengers' dispute in Germany, the team returns to the US and moves back into the tower. As always, everyone pretends that nothing happened. Tony is just fine with this. He's used to pretending, and he'll be damned if he lets any of them see him flinch.

Tony's the bad guy, after all. He's used to it. He's fine with it. He's good at it.

Only now, there's something far worse loitering around the tower - The Winter Soldier. No one notices the guy at first, but when they do, Tony figures that he should have the solder's back.

Birds of a feather should flock together, and the bad guys should start a book club.

    Summary

Tony isn't a healthy man. He's fine with that, really. It makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, he has a job to do that kind of has his health as a major requirement. So he unmakes himself, remakes the Accords, protects every single child super that enters his field of view, and hopes ferociously that the Avengers never come back to the US. He doesn't spend any time at all rebuilding Bucky Barnes' life. Not a single second. Anything he does that contributes to him is simply an accident.

Bucky is a patient man. It's ok if Tony wants to ignore him for now. He won't be able to forever.

(Somewhere in the world, a sense of dread crawls up the back of Tony's spine)

    Bookmarker's Notes

Really flippant in tone and seems kind of cracky at first, but DO NOT let that fool you if you're like me and don't much care for crack fics. This work is art. It's gorgeous and I love it

    Summary

Bond rolls forward, although his usual liquidly graceful movements are stiff from his injuries. Q doesn’t startle, too used to Bond’s antics over months of travelling together, although his breath does hitch when Bond sweeps his fingers under Q's glasses, brushing lightly against the dark bruises Q knows are still there.

"Think of this as a vacation,” Bond says. “You haven't stopped at all since we left London."

"A vacation," Q says incredulously. "With the scorching sun and questionable water and unreliable food supplies and a heightened chance of tropical water-borne diseases, and all my equipment sunk in the ocean."

“With the briny air and an abundance of wild and sea life and limitless possibilities," Bond counters, "without alerts or surveillance or the need to stare at a glowing screen for hours on end.”

(Post-Spectre mission fic, where the mission is to survive being stranded on a desert island, and shutting down Spectre's operations is a critical but secondary objective reserved for after they get off the island.

But when did MI6's missions ever run according to plan?)
