    Ron realized that he was holding his breath. He glanced over at Hermione, who was looking at Krum like she was definitely, absolutely going to leave Ron for him, and honestly, at this moment, Ron felt that was fair. Ron was going to leave himself for Krum. Ron was going to rob all the banks in the world to get Viktor Krum back his money as long as it meant he’d keep their beautiful, perfect, angelic monster of a screaming baby quiet.

    “I want to be in a small, warm place,” Hermione muttered, and then squeaked a little realizing she’d said it out loud.

    Rose giggled. “Shidole,” she whispered, looking pleased and interested, smacking at Krum’s chest.

    “Rose, don’t call our guests shitholes,” Hermione scolded, and then said, “Viktor, you can stay as long as you like.”

    “That was a mistake,” Ares says, walking beside him. “You’re not one to abandon your post. This is going to eat at you.”

    Just like every other time he’s spoken with Ares, Percy is vibrating with anger. How dare Ares tell him what’s best for him. At his sides, he tightens his hands into fists tight enough he’s sure he’s drawn blood.

    “What’s it to you?” he spits out.

    “You’ve got war in your heart, boy,” Ares says. Percy can’t see his eyes because of his sunglasses, but he’s sure they’re glowing red like charcoal. “I can taste it.”

    "I’m dating your dad," Percy confessed in a rush.

    Will frowned. "Run that by me again?" he asked, "did you just say you're dating my dad? But Annabeth just kissed you goodbye on her way to her Cabin!"

    "Oh, I'm still dating Annabeth," Percy said earnestly. "I'm just dating your dad as well."

    Will blinked, mouth dropping open. He closed it again after a moment, visibly thinking. "Is Annabeth dating my dad?"

    Percy laughed and shook his head. "No, definitely not," he said firmly. "Just me."

    Or, Percy is dating Annabeth AND Apollo, and is extremely happy with the arrangement (and feeling more loved than he thought possible). Annabeth and Apollo are absolutely not dating but may (just may) be fast becoming best friends. Not that either of them will ever admit that in a million years.

    Percy stares at him in silence for another moment, still looking at him like he can’t believe this is real, before rushing forward and squeezing him tight enough that, if Apollo were still fully mortal, he might be concerned about his ability to breathe.

    He can’t hear everything Percy says, words all coming out in a rush and muffled by the skin of his neck, but he catches the tail end, “I thought you weren’t coming back…”

    Apollo pulls away, soothing one hand up and down Percy’s arm and reaching up with the other to cup Percy’s chin. “Baby,” he whispers. “As if I could ever not come back to you.”

    This moment is important, they both know it.

    He’s not sure who moves first, but Percy’s lips are on his and everything he wants to say is being pushed away by the taste of Percy on his tongue.

    Percy Jackson rejecting godhood was not the plan, and so the Fates must act. So, as the Giant War ends and Gaea is defeated, the Moirai make a god out of the boy destined for it. No one but them is happy about this decision, but now Percy has to learn to navigate his new powers and new life whether he likes it or not.

    If there's one good thing to come out of it though, it's the new friendship he's somehow found himself in with a certain sun god...
