It’s the first time anybody has said aloud that they’re not expecting Buck home tonight. It’s the first time anybody has even suggested that it could be days, even weeks before they see him again. If this were anyone other than Chimney, Eddie would be tempted to hit them, start some kind of fight for even insinuating that this isn’t going to be cut-and-dry. But he knows Chim too well — the man knows to hope for the best and prepare for the worst, and he’s no stranger to losing a brother.
or, Buck goes missing without a trace. All that's left behind is his abandoned phone, signs of a struggle, and everybody that cares about him.

[Eddie is the newest firefighter at the 118. Buck is the ghost haunting the 118. Unfortunately for both of them, Eddie's also a witch and needs to put Buck's spirit to rest, because that's what witches do.
Turns out, Buck's spirit? Super not interested in being put to rest. Very interested, however, in flirting with Firefighter Diaz, who is just trying to survive his candidate year.

Summary
By the time he registers that there is now blood rolling down the side of his face, Buck is being pulled up by the gunman, the weapon jammed against the side of his head and an arm wrapping around his neck as they look up to the loft, where the team stands, frozen in shock.
He'd hoped that they would've heard his warning and run, but clearly, they hadn't.
(Or, post-lawsuit, two people decide that today is the day to threaten the 118 at gunpoint.)

Summary
Buck had been back at 118 a few months after the lawsuit. He had his team back, but he wasn't happy.
Bobby, Hen, Chim they all talked to him. But Eddie? He avoids him as best he can. They work well together in rescues. But there are no private conversations and certainly no meetings.
After a few months, Buck considers a transfer.
It's only when Eddie sees Buck falling off a cliff that he realizes he made a mistake.
