“D’you realize,” [Crowley] said, “that we never tire of things humans get bored with on the regular?”
Aziraphale shrugged, lazily basking. “I’ve always assumed it’s that we don’t tire of each other.”

"I’m so sorry, my dear," Aziraphale says at last. "It’s indelicate of me, but I…" there’s no way for him to ignore Crowley’s heavy scent now, the musk coming off of him that makes Aziraphale want to react. Oh, how he is reacting. "You are, perhaps, equipped?"
"I’m an alpha, yeah." Crowley takes a deep breath. What must Aziraphale smell like to him? Pure desperation? "I know a few good ones on my end, sure, who might be available. I’ll call --"
"Crowley," says Aziraphale. He feels as though he will burn out of his skin. Crowley’s willful misunderstanding is too much. "No. You."

Aziraphale protects, as it is his nature. Whether it is giving away his flaming sword to defenseless humans, or coming to Crowley in his time of need, he sees it as his duty. If there's a little bit of love simmering beneath it all, especially when a certain demon's wings are laid out before him shivering with need, well. He'll do his duty first, and figure out the rest later.
Or: an alpha angel and an omega demon eventually overcome the end of the world, their insecurities, and manage to find a home together.
The Dean everyone once knew is gone, replaced by a conniving creature with an addiction to chaos. Trailing murders behind him, Cas and Sam race to catch Dean and save him from himself.
But Dean isn't in the business of lying to himself anymore, and he wants Cas like he never let himself before he woke up in his demonic state. While Dean tries to force happiness on Sam in the form of Eileen Leahy, Cas has to fight the constant battle of his grace mysteriously acting faulty.
Having always loved Dean, no matter what, Cas is now faced with the need to do right for the world, and the need for Dean - a thing that used to align. Struggling with separating the two, Cas straddles the line between giving in and making a very hard decision.
