    Summary

Jack Harkness runs away at the end of Children of Earth, practically choking on his own despair.

He runs, and he runs, and he runs--and he ends up in a pocket universe, with its own laws of physics.

Tortall will never be the same again. And it's really, really hard to pull a decent con when Veralidaine Sarrasri stares you down like a lion, and when Numair Salmalin has a convenient packet of eyebright that won't let you lie. Between the two of them, Jack doesn't stand a chance.

Tortall's not like Earth. Tortall's not like Earth at all. Earth was unforgiving, and Torchwood had a long, long history of breaking its people. Tortall though--Tortall's young. And it gives more than it takes.

“The place you give the Bite has meaning," Derek says. "Biting someone on the side is to make them your beta. It makes them your subordinate, but it also invites them into the pack with the full protection of the alpha. Biting someone on the legs indicates that you’re turning them to an omega. And biting someone on the arm, particularly the wrist, turns someone as your equal. It’s a mating ritual.”

Stiles nearly chokes on a mouthful of granola. “A what?”

    Canon-verse AU.

Sansa jumps from Winterfell's walls alone, sure that she'll die before she can escape the North. Instead she makes it to White Harbor, and from there she sails to Dorne, for Dornishmen are likely the only ones in Westeros who will not immediately return her to the Lannisters or to the Boltons. Once in Dorne Sansa realizes that there are some places on earth where women are free: free to come and go, free to learn new skills, and free to take lovers whenever and however they please.

“I’m not Dornish,” said Sansa sadly.

“And yet here you sit,” said Oberyn, his eyes focused on her. “Unbowed, unbent-”

“-And only a little bit broken,” said Sansa, unable to keep the bitterness from her voice.

    “Unbreakable,” said Oberyn softly.
