"Name one Witcher who was happy." Flower challenged, turning to look Geralt straight in the eyes, "You can't."
"I can't," Geralt said, not spending more than a second of thought on the subject. No Witcher is truly meant to be happy, but that doesn't mean they can't be.
"They never let you be a hero and happy," Flower sighed, tossing a rock with more strength than the rest.
"Can I tell you a secret?" Geralt asks, thinking back to that night, years ago when Flower had told him about Eskel and his secret.
"What?"
"I'm going to be the first." He said, self-assured after seeing how Flower had helped Eskel, that if he had that too he would be the first happy hero.
"Swear it." He asks, his tone taking on a serious lilt to it.
"Why me?" Flower asks, turning again to face Geralt, his blue eyes squinting at him.
"Because you're the reason. Now swear it," Again, he asked, happy that the comment had made Flower smile even a little.
