    Summary

F.A. 15. At Glóin's funeral, Thranduil has a surprising tale to tell.
    ---
“Your choice to attend the funeral is honourable.”
Bold of you to come. You held him captive once, and now you claim the right to mourn him among his people. Ludicrous.
“It is only fair that I pay my last respects to the father of my son’s consort.”
Why don’t you show some respect, as well? You are not half the Dwarf that Glóin was. Stop acting as if this day was for you, as if I came to see you.
    ---
“Well. If they endured all of this, maybe they really are made for each other, as they like to claim.”
“Indeed, Master Dwarf. Perfectly matched hotheads.”
    “Stiff necks.”
    “Reckless.”
“They do make a good couple, though.”
    “I absolutely refuse to answer.”
    ---
"That night we realized three things; first, this world was really changing, and for good maybe. [...] Second, we were responsible for bringing into the world the most inconsiderate, thick-headed groundbreakers ever seen on Arda. [...] And third. Someday, I was going to be the only one left with such responsibility to bear."

    Summary

One of the biggest consequences of the schism between Heaven and Hell is this; the angels who remain in Heaven become convinced that their Fallen compatriots all share the fatal flaw of experiencing emotions. Clearly, no true and good angel feels the same things humans do. That's just obscene. Angels are allowed to feel awe-at-divine-glory, benign-happiness, and general-but-never-specific-love. Except, there's one angel still in Heaven who can't quite manage to only feel those.

Now, the Apocalypse is over, eight years over in fact. Aziraphale has helped Crowley through his own anxieties and onto the path to healing. But, here's the thing about helping someone you love; you can't do it without revealing some of yourself. No one ever told Aziraphale that sharing is reciprocal.

    Summary

Aziraphale tries his hand at tempting (and fails), gets himself into trouble, finds a friend and nearly loses him, and realizes just what Crowley means to him in the process.

On the other hand, Crowley has always known what Aziraphale means to him. It’s obvious.

Or: Five things Crowley is to Aziraphale, and one thing Aziraphale is to Crowley.

    Summary

Aziraphale thinks that he and Crowley should get married for tax reasons, and the Anti-Christ (according to Upstairs and Downstairs) is officially Not Evil Enough. In an effort to force the boy into realizing his destiny, Adam Young's parents are killed in a car accident that wasn't really an accident. Trying to stop a ticking time bomb of hormones from destroying the world when his beloved parents are no longer in it is probably impossible, but Aziraphale and Crowley are still going to try.

    Summary

The voice was softer this time as it spoke, it clearly came from something large and the walls echoed it very easily, “What is your name?”
She swallowed and breathed before opening her eyes seeing that there were two very large bluish-grey reptile-like eyes looking at her from deep in the darkness which caused her to gasp and stumble over her answer, “C-clara.”
    “Are you afraid Clara?”
She was unsure if she should lie as it was her first, and possibly her last, encounter with a dragon and decided to tell the truth, “yes.”
