When a barrier between two worlds breaks, it provides an ample opportunity for two separated cultures to interact for the first time in ages. However, a band of ponies and gryphons on one of these two worlds come upon a spoken legend that foretells the end times that follow the barrier's destruction—whispers of aggravatingly vague omens to come. In addition to this, said group find six mares and a small drake from the sister world, each as perplexed as ever as to why the barrier broke.
Yet none know how fast the clock ticks, nor of the forces at work in the shadows. Should they fail to stop whoever or whatever is behind the mess, a fated tragedy will strike—with all being plunged into their final, and darkest hour. But how will the differing groups stop the impending calamity, when they have but one meager piece of a proverbial puzzle, and such vast worldviews that are radical enough to spark fights between them?

The Sweet Eater, one of the six Sweet Gods, has decided to engage in an experiment of sorts: creating quite an eccentric village in her own bedroom, consisting mostly of cages and huts more befitting of mice, all stationed in what could be more appropriately called a pigsty. But as a God, she does not adhere to most limitations, as the only true limit is that of her mind. So she decides to shrink people to a mere tenth of their size, strip them down, and watch the ensuing fireworks, though every now and again she will need to restore some semblance of order within her tiny community. But first... said community will need inhabitants.
Her first targets? An unassuming man and a very, very unstable cybernetic woman that she had to yank from different worlds. May the rest of the Sweet Gods help the budding community.

Flying over a moonlit plain one night, a young military-trained pegasus named Sora finds herself tangling with a grounded adversary—one who, admittedly, is a little bit on the deranged side of the fence. Having attracted strange cloaked ponies that seemingly want said adversary dead, Sora decides to act and takes her foe to be detained for her crimes—taking into account her worse-for-wear state.
Yet with disapproval from a whole army's worth of ponies in uniform, especially those few in a high position of power who order her around, Sora stubbornly clings to her decision. This is something that she does know could spark either an event as harmless as a dischargement... or lead to less than favorable consequences—though such things she has taken as seriously as she would her duty to said lofty few. Whatever the result, she'll have to make do, as will her adversary and anypony else who decides to get involved with them.
But there is a wise saying of ages long lost, one Sora follows to the letter—it is short, simple, and much to her chagrin, the particular predicament she's wound up in. As a wise soul once said, all those countless ages ago: "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."

Shiki Eiki, revered Yama of Paradise, had never once expected to run into any issues regarding her Cleansed Crystal Mirror. None whatsoever. So when a strange man confronts her, seemingly overriding its power, she finds herself in over her head regarding how to deal with the problem.
All this, during a time of peace no less.
Now, normally, she'd ask for a certain shrine maiden's help in the matter, but that's not the only trick the stranger is packing—around him, she finds herself grounded. Worse, he has no spell cards, so a danmaku duel's out of the question. Confounded, and concerned as she cannot get a single read on the man, she experiences a moment of uncertainty. But in Gensokyo, not everything is as it seems. And with its newest stranger, things may be worse than just at first glance—nor as simple to deal with as the standard incident. As she works to uncover the man's motives, life, and other necessary details, she may just find herself wishing she hadn't encountered him at all...
