The Las Vegas Aces select, with the first overall pick in the 2009 entry draft, from the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Kent Parson.
The Las Vegas Aces also have a history of chewing up pretty, agreeable rookies and spitting them out, but Frank Holloway, captain of the Aces and on the downswing of his career, knows that Kent is his best shot at a Cup. So he's got to take control of this game, make sure his team of degenerates keeps their hands off Parson until he's got the kid trained up right.

Alexei isn't a manipulative person by nature, but he's observant, and he has a generous heart. At some point between being Bitty's friend and being his shoulder to lean on, Alexei found himself setting the pieces up to fall his way, and waiting for something that might never come. And then there was Kent Parson, who somehow happened in the middle of it all.
A story where patience and steadfast kindness leads to a happy ending (except for one Jack Zimmermann).

The Falconers are used to seeing Kent around. He's Jack's sub, even if both the sub and the belonging to Jack part are a secret. Guy never really thought anything of it beyond idle speculation, but when some chirping sends Kent spiraling into subspace, Guy starts to think that maybe these two need a hand with their dynamic.

He's cheating on his boyfriend - well, he was cheating on his boyfriend till last afternoon. He's Kent's boyfriend now, Kent's heart swells with the pride of it....
There Jack is, anyway, snapping away and adjusting filters, and Kent has no idea what all else.
