Summary
Izuku hadn’t felt right all of his life. For some odd reason, he always felt like there was something watching him, hunting him. Hiding in the shadows far enough away that Izuku couldn’t see it, but close enough that he could feel it.
It was a deep-seated fear that he couldn’t shake, but never truly acknowledged. He was a paranoid kid. He was Quirkless. His friends had turned to enemies in a single night, and the world was against him. Izuku was used to fear, so he deduced this fear as anxiety. It was nothing more.
Sometimes the thing that followed him disappeared for weeks, or months at a time. He would forget about it and move on with his life without looking over his shoulder. At least for a while.
There were days where he could relax, but days like that were getting rarer and rarer. He could feel the noose tightening around his neck.
He never just realized that the monster was real.
Its name was The Doctor, a serial killer who had killed over a hundred people.
And Izuku was his next victim. He just didn't know it yet.

Din crossed the room in three strides and swept his kid into his arms, pressing in his little face into the hollow of his throat. Grogu babbled frantically up at him. His clawed hands scrambled for Din’s shirt, trying to latch onto him even though his wrists were handcuffed together.
“I’m here,” Din said, voice shaking. “I’m here, Grogu. Buir is here.”
