I had come across Shiro-nii's tumblr before but I didn't know someone had written a story based on their art!!! This was such a delicate, soft fic.. fitting considering this is a wing!fic so reading it feels like holding a tiny bird in your hands. There's just something so fragile about it and is definitely worth a reread.

An absolute monster of a story. The character interactions are brilliant, the sheer number of mysteries and oblique references for clues to a puzzle are staggering, and there are more liquors and spirits here than in a BC liquor store. Time to make a Manhattan.

    Summary

Juxtapose. Verb, meaning: to place two things together in a contrasting manner. In this case, two points of divergence.

Izuku Midoriya, an aspiring Hero with a useless Quirk, is heartbroken when his lifelong idol tells him to reconsider his options. He doesn't know what else to do but cry in the park until a husk of a man offers him ice cream. The man, named Toshinori Yagi, tells Izuku that he might still have a chance: If he worked hard and entered Yuuei's General Education program, then he could potentially transfer into the Hero Course if he won the Sports Festival.

With a new path forward and a mentor to guide him, Izuku takes a very different road towards becoming a hero.

Ooohhh. Glorious canon derailment. This trainwreck is smoking like a California wildfire and pummeling through canon like a .95 calibre bullet. Gotta love the connections drawn between the Festival and the Chuunin exams. Also, just for the sheer number of ways Minor Banishment the author has created makes this story deserve a bookmark, subscribe, and kudo. Like wow, absolutely in love with the creative muscles being exercised in this.

LMFAO. Omg this story. I have to bookmark it. I'm not joking. I'm not even halfway through what has been published but the author has to be a bio/biomedical student because they made a fucking pedigree, have theories about quirks heredity, and the scientific paper excerpts with the genetics omg. Words cannot describe how much I love this considering how relevant this is to me. Also, that damn burn about the irrational anti-vaccine panic in the early 2000s comment murdered me and I shall go to my grave wearing a giant All Might smile on my face. Bonus points for the in-text citation format with freaking italicized et al's.

Not quite sure why I haven't bookmarked this yet considering how I liked basically all the stories in the series. But I love the introspective perspective on what is essentially a children's cartoon as well as Ash's and Pikachu's characterization. Frankly, if LeDiz was going to write a novelization of the entire series just like how they wrote their series, I happily wait until the end of my time to read it because it would be amazing.
