Rachel snapped her hand out towards him, shushing him when he didn’t even know he was about to speak. “I think you had your gift a lot longer than you think. You just did that thing you do and tried to ignore it. You used to cry whenever we did. Didn’t matter why. When Luis fell off his bike, do you remember that?”
The images of bright blood rolling down tanned arms popped into his head, the echo of a scream. It’d been summer then, humidity thick, the dirt paths around the farm baking hot. July at its zenith.
“Yeah. He needed stitches.”
“Exactly. Luis was hurt, but there you were: an ugly, sobbing mess. That was the first time mom had a suspicion.”
What Lance remembered didn’t stick out as supernatural, just his own, full heart trying to shoulder everything for everyone else.
This is a story involving an old plantation manor that may or may not be haunted; a story about how bad things happen to good people, often in terrible, ugly ways. This, at its core, is a story about how everyone in Indigo Pull has their own secrets, and how these secrets grow until they cannot be kept, like overgrown fields lost to weeds or a young heart to the temptation of love.

In which Adam has the bright idea to do a tarot reading for the gang--just for fun, just because. Maybe it isn't the brightest idea to mess around with things like this, even if it's only to pass the time.
Ronan is made up of impossible stuff.
Ronan knows this because he thinks of it all the way up the mountainside, the BMW roaring as it pulls them up and up and up the curving, snake-like street.
Them means Ronan in the driver seat, and it means Adam in the passenger seat. It means the small distance of space between their hands. It means the moment when there isn't any space at all.
In which Ronan takes Adam on a late night drive up the Henrietta mountains.

They gather and prepare to leave--to go to a place full of color, adventure, and a bright blue, salt sea.
A quiet storm sweeps over the Merry, but instead of going inside to wait out the rain, Nami leads Luffy to a new shelter under the weeping branches of her tangerine trees.

Lance shows up at the apartment around 7:30 Saturday evening with a duffel bag slung over his shoulder and a wild, eager look in his eyes. He toes off his sneakers, kicking them aside.
"My dad almost didn't let me out of the truck," he tells Keith, half laughing. His cheeks are flushed and he's out of breath, like he ran up the stairs instead of taking them at a patient pace. "I might have let it slip that Shiro isn't gonna be around to chaperone tonight."
"Shiro's still here, actually," Shiro calls from the kitchen.
Lance opens his mouth, looks at Keith - must have been so focused on Keith that he missed the play of Shiro's amusement in the other room - and Keith tries not to let his whole body go warm. Lance slaps himself in the face with his own hand. He turns to grab the doorknob, mumbling about his big stupid mouth. Keith grabs him by the arm to stop him and lets out a nervous laugh.
//Lance is an Empath. Keith is a Vampire. They are both new to their unique circumstances and new to relationships in general, so these are some understandably frustrating hurdles they need to overcome. Or, more or less: 5 Times Lance and Keith Get Interrupted While Making Out + 1 Time They Don't
