Eva was fierce. She was strong and proud and determined. Even as a baby she was making her own rules, always leaving everyone else to follow along. She was talented. She was smart. She was pretty in a way that exuded confidence and drew attention. And Max really did adore all of that about her. Admired it in a quiet way because she was everything he thought he might want to be.
Max decided the worst thing about Eva was being her twin brother. Decided it when he was young and still accepting her insistence that she was the older sibling. Back when he let her drag him into all her games and mischief. Trussed him up in bright dresses, plastic jewelry, and cheap lipstick. And he was always curious. Always wanting to be a little more like Eva.
Because Eva could be anything.
Max just wanted to be something. Someone. Someone a little bit wonderful, if he could manage it.

"Are you good?" Todd asked when Levon failed to form a sentence, and Levon realized how out of character it was for him to call Todd. There a was a layer of concern just under Todd's indifferent tone, and the protectiveness that seemed ever present in Todd when they were younger and Todd was always saving Levon from his problems. Levon's anger seemed to melt away at that familiar sense of security.
"I'm good," Levon spoke finally and a soft smile spread over his lips. "Are you good?"
"I'm good," Todd said gruffly.
"Are we good?" Levon asked and Todd scoffed.
"What we. There is no we. We're not friends."
"Wouldn't want you as a friend anyway," Levon snickered. "You're kind of an asshole."
Todd and Levon, and their acceptance that they were never meant to be friends.
Hal decides he knows best about Barry's love life, and has a plan to fix it. And since when has Hal having a plan turned out anything other than awesome?

Because if that's not the most BatLanterny thing ever, I don't know what is.

Far away from his friends at the castle, Keith's only way of communicating with them is a battered old phone. This is maybe going to be harder than he thought.
A long-distance, friends-to-lovers fic, set during season four.
- Part 1 of flicker
It’s usually the eyes.
More than the eyes themselves, it’s the fire inside them. The spark of determination and promise of doing the unthinkable.
It’s a fire he hasn’t seen in a long time.
Keith rolls, something he seems to taken a like to everytime he enters a pod, before he slams his back against the far corner of the pod, choking up at the impact.
And it’s the same fire that gets the kit in trouble.
[The one where Kolivan takes Keith into the Blade of Marmora and slowly starts to understand why one of his most trusted soldiers didn't want to leave Earth.]
“So you’re really okay with all of this?” Lance asks meekly once more.
“Yeah,” Keith lies. “Of course.”
Keith meets Lance's family for the first time.
