    Summary

"Why have not we an immortal soul?" asked the little mermaid mournfully. "I would give gladly all the hundreds of years that I have to live, to be a human being only for one day."

"You must not think of that," said the witch, "unless a man were to love you. And if all his thoughts and all his love were fixed upon you, and he promised to be true to you here and hereafter-- then his soul would glide into your body and you would obtain a share in the future happiness of mankind. He would give a soul to you, and retain his own as well.

    But this can never happen."

    - Hans Christian Andersen

    Summary

After the android uprising, Connor becomes a permanent fixture in the DPD. That’s fine. Gavin can accept that. The dipshit’s more human than he used to be, and a decent detective to boot. Gavin can deal with him being around.

What Gavin cannot deal with is Connor’s replica; two inches taller, blue-eyed, and with a mouth that Gavin doesn’t know whether to punch or take between his teeth. The RK900 model has been assigned as his partner for the foreseeable future.

Now with a trashy timestamps series.

    Summary

After Markus obtains equal rights for all Androids, Cyberlife is pressured to release all the prototype androids deemed unready for public use before the Revolution. In a diplomatic effort, Cyberlife offers all prototypes a chance of a paid job in the sector they were intended to work in or otherwise, in order to not waste the money gone into programming their specific skillsets. Among them is Connor, an RK Prototype, who is offered a training period at the Detroit Police Department under the condition that he reports his progress via email to the man assigned to be his mentor. A man that Connor has never met, who will never reply, and who will remain anonymous for the duration of his training; bar the pseudonym "Lt. H."
A man that, having only ever seen his shadow in a hallway, Connor affectionally names after the Pholcidae spider, more commonly known as Daddy Long Legs.

Lieutenant Hank Anderson just wanted to get Fowler off his ass and deal with this mentoring crap as quickly and easily as possible. Instead, he has to deal with an android calling him "Daddy" in every email he sends. It's not what he wanted or expected, but it somehow ends well.

The prick in front of the desk is not Connor, on a second look. It's a few inches taller, no tie, only that white jacket over a black shirt with the collar high and tight around its neck. It looks a lot like Connor, but the eyes that rest on him are cold grey, matching the spinning, calm blue of its LED. The lines of its face somehow different with the lack of Connor's big eyes and earnest sincerity. Harder. He glares back, but nothing changes. It's completely still, not reacting, only studying him with eyes that might as well be fucking chips of ice for all the feeling they've got.

It looks like it's got a massive fucking steel rod jammed up its ass, is what it looks like.

    Summary

RK900 has been the only constant in Gavin Reed’s life since he was a child. Through the school fights, the arrests, the tears and the scraped knuckles, the 900 was the only anchor in his life, the center of the chaotic universe Gavin inhabited.

And Gavin, a lonely astronaut drifting through the dark cosmos of his life, all cigarette lips and restless hands, does not realize that he is in symbiosis with the android, that their bond is the tether that has kept Gavin tied to the base station, even as he drifts through the darkness that his life has become.
He doesn’t realize that he is not master of this cosmos and that there is a greater god out there who is just as willing to prostrate itself at Gavin’s feet as Gavin is at his.
