    Summary

Demons have no internal sense of identity.

Crowley is, in many ways, only "Crowley" as long as those around him--and he himself--perceive him that way. He maintains his tenuous grip on his identity through his actions, his speech, his appearance.

But in Rome, he meets someone who can tear all that apart. And Aziraphale must find a way to put him back together.
    --
Cautiously, Aziraphale stuck his head through the door. It appeared to be empty, wooden floor and plaster shredded as if some wild animal had been locked inside. There was blood here and there, and it certainly wasn’t human.

Tucked in the corner where the clay roof tiles nearly sloped to the floor, lay a bed, just a pallet stuffed with straw. A dark figure lay upon it, burrowed into so many blankets he almost couldn’t see the shape tremble.

“Crowley?” He could sense the demonic energy, though not as powerful as usual. As if it were being hidden. “Are you...quite alright?”

    Summary

Crowley had been with this group of ghost-hunters for two years, Aziraphale for three. They’d never had a conversation that didn’t end in an argument. If they weren’t both essential (read: would work this as a side job on the weekends for low pay), Gabriel would have fired one or both of them a long time ago.

So now, as Aziraphale conducted his interview, Crowley was sure to scowl at him when he looked up. Because Aziraphale was on camera and couldn’t scowl back.

Aziraphale returned his focus to Deirdre with an irritated huff of breath that Crowley did not miss. “What happened that day you stayed home?” he asked her.

Deirdre talked with her hands, shaping out her thoughts in a vague, fluttery way. “I started hearing things, like scraping noises. From upstairs.” She pointed, as if they’d need direction, maybe thinking they might not be able to imagine what had happened that day, not in this warm and well-lit room with the open window and the front door in sight.

    Summary

A Good Omens AU which takes place in the year leading up to the Apocalypse. Aziraphale has been alone on Earth for 6000 years. He loves the planet, the humans, all the wonders therein, but as the only ethereal being on the planet (as far as he's aware) and a misfit among the other angels of Heaven, he's been terribly, painfully lonely.

Everything changes the day he senses a presence: a demonic presence that is in pain, as lonely and miserable as the angel is, and is hanging on his last thread of life after being tortured for an untold length of time. Aziraphale rescues the dying demon, whose powers and voice have been stolen away from him by a mystical artefact, and vows to protect him and keep him safe.

But what will Aziraphale think when he finds out who was responsible for the demon's imprisonment and why? Not to mention the secret the demon is keeping about who he really is?

    Summary

Lots and lots of somethings are wrong. First, Crowley's nearly hit by a car. Then he almost brains himself tripping over new and excessive piles of books at the bookshop. To add insult to near-injury, Aziraphale starts throwing knives at him. Safe to say his day could be going better.

The thing that's the most wrong of all is the universe, of course. In this one there was never an Arrangement. Aziraphale and Anthony (they can't both be 'Crowley') aren't friends and they certainly never agreed to prep for Armageddon. Unfortunately, the end of the world is two days away.

So that's something Crowley really has to fix before they can figure out how to get him home.
